First the story:
Citrus Heights police shoot, kill man; standoff ends

Note: Citrus Heights is a city in Sacramento County, California
CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. (KCRA) —A nearly seven-hour standoff ended Thursday night when police shot and killed a man barricaded inside a Citrus Heights apartment, police said.

The man, who was wanted for domestic violence, came out of the apartment without warning, armed with a knife. The man then came toward police and was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now the rest of the story. One of the other moderators of the forum that I also moderate used to get wrong numbers for a guy named Greg.
Here's what he posted on our staff chat site:
Yesterday (here or #chat) I posted somewhere about how I keep getting wrong number calls for a guy named greg, and yesterday someone called and said there was a police stand off between apartments and best buy and they wanted me (the person they meant to call) to come out

That is like 4 miles from where I live. So I think Greg is dead.
The article doesn't name the man killed but the assumption, so far, is that Greg is no more.

Interesting. Probably didn't hurt, either. Just a minor two minute glitch in a seven hour ordeal.

Now my interest is piqued. Anybody think there was a change of shift during this standoff, or was overtime utilized?

One more thing, police investigators have absolutely NO business speculating on motives...especially to the press.
