Not for a long time - not since the District of Columbia Retrocession. I do believe that the District should not be allowed to pass any laws restricting any Nature-given right....

Side note, it's always annoyed me that the border with MD starts right at the Potomac, and that some of the islands on OUR side belong to MD. The original agreement was free, unfettered access to the river and the islands, but that is clearly not the case. Time to ANNEX THEM ISLANDS!

Yes, the current D.C. was a part of Maryland...and if they really want the representation that they continually insist that they deserve, then they should petition Maryland for retrocession and shut up about Statehood.

And while we're at it? Let West Virginia have the Western Section of Maryland that is NOTHING like the Eastern side!

I don't think Maryland wants them, either, and I don't think D.C. Is willing to make themselves more attractive to Maryland, but that should be the avenue for gaining the representation they are crying about in the news reports.

DC belongs to every state equally. Let the laws that apply to every individual in their home state apply to them while they are in DC.
