Blatantly versus Passively....

So with the Target Bathroom Debate, and calls to boycott it because of it, hearing folks who haven't "boycotted" places before now is kinda funny.
I had to explain the "Blatantly" versus "Passively" process of business.
If a company STRONGLY supports gun control, contributes to organizations that wish for my death, and call LEO's every time someone armed is in their establishment, I would call that "Blatantly" against me.
However, having a CEO run his mouth, with no signage, or risk of confrontation, and even a lacks attitude if they see me carrying, that's "passively".
An example, I won't go to Buffalo Wild Wings. BLATANTLY anti-gun, signage, LEOs, and massive contributions to Anti-Gun Orgs...
Starbucks? I've open carried in the local ones, and had whole conversations with employees about their favorites, etc, etc... Passive.
So Target? Target does enough with Anti-Gun folk, that I won't make that anything, but a "Last Resort".
Some folks just need an "ah-ha" moment.

I find it irrational and foolish to base one's liking or disliking of a place of business or person(s) solely on "what if" scenarios. What if there is gun fight? What if a man in drag rapes a woman? What if a man in drag walks into a restaurant and shoots a woman? There are so many variables and what ifs in life that if you spend your life wondering "what if?" that you will have taken away the very thing that makes life worth living.
In these cases, it is people pissing and moaning about things that disagree with them. Since this happens on both sides there is no solution. People have forgotten how to mind their own business and let bygones be bygones. I hate that I have to sympathize with the government being in a position where they have to play big brother to shut the mouths of whiny children, and pleasing as many as possible (since pleasing everyone all of the time is impossible), and protecting the rights of as many as they can.
So many cry that their rights are at stake when they're not. All rights are being upheld save one, the 2nd. The right to keep and bear arms has been slowly infringed upon and violated. People can run their mouths all the time about anything, the religious can trespass on my property to try and convert me, the news can flat out lie with impunity, ect. but I carry my gun for protection and suddenly I'm the bad guy.
On a personal note I do dislike Target, not because of their policies, but because they sell overpriced junk. While their recent stance on transgender people does make me like them a little more (my being of the LGBT community) it doesn't change the fact that they still sell junk. Now if Walmart took an anti-gay stance I'd be pissed.

That cracked me up! I find most of the LGBT community WON'T shop at Wal-mart because they "disagree with their politics".
I shop there because it's inexpensive, and they carry some name brands that others won't... like Remington! HAHAH

TBH was just on the phone with the folks that we are delivering to, which is over in the South West portion of VA (Where actual Virginians still reside, along with some possible transplants from Kentucky, North Carolina, and maybe West Virginia ). After giving her directions, he explained the bathroom policy; "Traditional, we don't put up with that PC BS 'round here". To which my wife replied, "Don't worry, no unicorns on this truck".
As far as private companies go, they have the right to set whatever bathroom policy they want, in my view. If they want open walled toilet facilities, that removes all privacy, they've got the right. Likewise, if I don't want to see all that (or be seen that way, for that matter ), I have every right to NOT do business with that company. Let the free market rule on this one.
As far as restroom facilities on public properties goes, make them all single-serve. Problem solved.
Really, this whole thing is stupid. Trans-folk have been using whatever restroom they wanted for years. They've just been discreet about it. I believe that this whole thing is a mass cry for attention and affirmation of lifestyle.
Really, if you need affirmation from the whole damn country that you've made the right life decisions, you got problems that a new bathroom just ain't gonna help.
