I'm at a loss for words on this one. Just when I thought that the Brady Campaign couldn't possibly get any lower, they go and dig through the scum at the bottom of the barrel.

At time tick 0:19 you can see that the 1911 has a magazine in it and the hammer is down. (The forward tab of the magazine baseplate is visible.)
At time tick 0:22 the safety is visibly down. (the gun is neither cocked nor locked)

Due to the grip safety, not being cocked, and Alice's small hands the whole scenario is highly improbable.
(With that particular gun that is, with a double action pistol it's possibly more likely.)

IMHO - This video is true gun porn, produced by some VERY SICK minded people.

Of course, this "PSA" plays strictly on emotions and provides ZERO logical content.
This Alice is of an age she should have experienced the Eddie Eagle program at least once, if not several, times. At least in my version of a better world.

I never did the whole Eddie Eagle thing. I was in my 30's by the time I was aware of its existence.

However, my father taught me gun safety when I was 4. He also demonstrated the destructive power of firearms. That, I believe, is the trick; involved parents teaching children about firearms. My sisters are all familiar with guns, too. Whenever I hear about accidental shootings by children, my first thought is to blame the parents. It's the parents failure in responsibility.

BTW - As was just pointed out to me that:
It is not possible to lock a 1911 with the hammer down.
John Moses Browning didn't design it that way.
