So, I'm stuck in the middle of this, right now:

Looks like 3 big rigs collided at about 6am, eastern. According to cb radio chatter, one of the trucks is on its side, and a couple of cars were also involved. I haven't moved in over an hour. I'm going to run short on my 14 hour clock, soon.

3am, local. Arizona understands that cutting the bottom off of a blanket and sewing it on the top does not result in a longer blanket, lol. So, half the year, AZ is on Pacific time.

Good for Arizona on that point.
Seems to me that the priority is investigation rather than flow of commerce these days.

Well, AZ state police just routed me back west and told us to park it for a couple of hours. No way around, they said.
Fortunately, I found a spot to park. Good thing, too; I'm about out of time.

Makes for longer hauls, and less entertainment.

How does anyone have time to get stumbling drunk by 9am? The bums seem to have come out of the wood work, and this parking lot is swarming with drunken injuns looking for handouts. This is truly absurd. I find it difficult to have sympathy for these people.

Well, I guess we can roll on, now. The link above shows a pic; seems that one truck jackknifed and tipped over, another truck slammed into it. The tipped truck was hauling for Autozone, so I guess that explains the hazmat clean up crews.

Wasn't a "Getting" point, it's a "STAYING" drunk point.

Indeed. Funny thing; I have stopped at that place before. I see the same people every time. When the Walmart installed low hanging truck barricades a few months ago, I figured that between the beggars and the hassle of negotiating a shopping cart over to the closed truckstop next door, it wasn't worth stopping there, anymore.
It was always late afternoon when I stopped there, though. I guess I was just surprised to see the drunks awake before noon, lol.
Another odd thing, those drunks have all been collecting money to go to Phoenix for the past 3 years. Bus tickets must be expensive, these days, lmao.

Low hanging truck barriers must be a new thing for Walmart. They put them in up here in Front Royal as well. They got knocked down a couple of times before the truckers figured them out.
Problem here, likely the same other places, is the local moron planners don't account for something they know will happen -- trucks park at Walmart! Rather than force Walmart to include easy in/out parking areas for the truckers (and the geezer-busses too), it's all for 4-wheelers. So the truckers just grin and destroy curbs, trees and anything else in their way so they can patronize Walmart (why?). The one in Front Royal has these huge rocks to block access to trucks.
Not to be out-done, the truckers go around back where deliveries are made and pull into the middle of a row of 4-wheeler parking, taking up about 20 freaking parking spaces. I have to grin every time I see that.
