In Dale City section of Woodbridge (where I live) police responding to a Domestic call got ambushed by the husband at the home. We were heading to Subway when 7 or 8 police cars flew through the neighborhood, followed by an ambulance.

A husbanded murdered his wife in front of their 10 year old son (I suspect the child had called 9-1-1). They didn't know he shot and killed his wife. The husband open fired on unsuspecting police as they attempted to gain access to the home. Three officers were shot; one died from her injuries.

Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Guindon was killed within 36 hours of being sworn-in, responding to this call on her second day of the job. Extremely heartbreaking.

Police Officer Ashley Guindon, 29, suffered fatal injuries in what was described as an ambush in the 13000 block of Lashmere Court off Ridgefield Boulevard Saturday evening.... Officer Guindon had formerly been a police officer and had just returned to law enforcement after taking some time off, Stewart said Saturday night. She was sworn in Friday.

That's a really crappy situation. Very sad.

It's stuff like that, that reminds me that world is headed to hell.

I found out that the shooter is Staff Sergeant the military and works at the Pentagon.
