Walk down memory lane SoCal...nostalgic!

My sister in SoCal sent me this link - nostalgic. We were raised in San Fernando Valley near Roscoe & Woodley. We knew everyone in our surrounding neighborhood and many from blocks away. Rode busses to school. Walked or rode our bicycles to our friends to play - outside no less.

Look at those beautiful cars with 12" fins, white sidewall tires.

Look at those "honeys" in their bathing suits. Beautiful!

Look at that HollyWood Freeway...you can actually see the road!

Look at that Stop Sign at that major intersection.

Look at people actually walking...

Bob's Big Boy Hamburger joint...I really miss them...Big Boy, fries and Hot Fudge Sundae!

Long Beach New Pike Amusement Park...used to go there several times over the summer months.

Nash Rambler Metropolitan car.

The Helms Bakery Delivery Truck...oh, I miss those donuts!

The Capitol Records Building...

Drag Racing in the LA River...oh what fun!

But wait...I don't see any cell phones. How sad for those people in those "Good Ole Days"!

(lots of pictures...growing link)

At least Bob's Big Boy and The Donut Hole are still around.

I spent a summer in Southern California once... my "nostalgia" centers around a yellow-brown haze covering the sun, scratchy throat and watery eyes.... :-(

No thanks...

I'm in SoCal, now. On my way out, though, heading back east. And, it always feels good to leave.

California has been so violated by the left, and by the Latino invasion; it's quite sad, really. Aesthetically speaking, and subtracting the litter, I love California.
