The progression of things...

Maybe I'm paying too close of attention, but there is a progression of things.

It's got a strong following, then whatever person/organization believes their own hype, they rest on their laurels, and then fail to keep up. Once that's been realized, it's a mad dash to get back what's lost, which stinks of desperation... and it falls.

I've seen this with gun rights organizations, musicians, business, politicians, celebrities, etc. etc.

I think what would help? In the Age of the Roman Empire, the "Caesar" would have a slave whisper in his ear as the cheers, and accolades coming in, "Fame is fleeting Caesar, fame is fleeting."

All one needs to do is be "hungry" all the time.

But how does one broach this subject when they're believing their own hype? (shakes head)

I wish I had an answer; if there is one.
