In December of 2015 the Mobile, AL city council banned roosters from the city.

If they'd made mention of a coinciding ban on adult male cattle, this would be a cock and bull story.
As this is a family friendly forum, I believe that I'd do best to refrain from any more puns on this topic, lol.

The street walkers got jealous... because any cock-a-doodle-do... So they had to ban them.

After being here in VA now for over four years after 30 plus years in Ohio I've come to REALLY appreciate the idea of a state legislature that is only in session for 60 days a year. They get there, get to work, and don't dither around.
The Ohio legislature is in session, except for a couple short recesses, year round.
They take their job description as "law maker" very seriously and are CONSTANTLY adding more and more laws on top of laws on top of laws. And, of course, they keep raising their pay.
The
Ohio Constitution is a relatively short document but the
Ohio Revised Code (ORC) (state laws) is HUGE!
Then there is the
OAC, the Ohio Administrative Code, which is the regulations produced by the different departments of the state to implement the laws in the ORC.
I've seen Ohio gun related legislation in committees for over a year or longer.
I went into culture shock when I moved here and found out how few gun related state laws VA has.
(/rant off)
That being said, it's obvious to me that the Mobile City Council is a group of people with the "law maker" mind set.

BTW, there are worse things than having neighbors with roosters.
I used to live near someone that raised peafowl.
Have you EVER heard a
peacock?
Yes, it's true. Peacocks DO NOT lay eggs. Peahens do.

I hear that peafowl tastes like pheasant.

Indeed, I have heard a peacock. I do not want to hear another one.
I did some work for some folks with a peacock, once. Those people never mentioned that pet. As I was walking up to the sliding glass door at the back deck, the peacock chose to glide off the roof, and land on the ground below. So I saw the reflection of that in the glass door. I swear, I thought the grim reaper was behind me; I had no idea that the wingspan of a peacock was that large.

I once met a sailor when I was in the USN that had a tattoo much like this one.
You will win a LOT of bar bets when you claim to have one hanging below your knee.
