Let us reprieve a moment from the Long Legged Liar in Chief, and talk of other hobbies. I have played with friend's metal detectors, but have started to think about getting one myself.
Any one in this hobby already? Any hints, or helpful advice.
Also, Pinpointers I heard were REALLY helpful, agree, or disagree?
What are some good locations in Va to play in without people getting bent out of shape?
I appreciate it!

I use metal detectors to help me remember where I buried my guns and ammo. That's about it. LOL.
Seriously though, good gear is expensive and out side of the beach a,d the battle grounds, I have no idea where to go in Va. Pinpointers come in very handy whene you are looking for things like coins and things about that size.

I can tell you NOT to take a metal detector to the Colonial Parkway. Apparently, buried metal is Federal property, there.

Was into metal detecting for years. Great way to spend a day with your friends. It's like hunting, it's hard to find a place to hunt. In recent years My detecting has been limited to Myrtle Beach .

I step out of my basement door to test guns I am working on (I have several 300 Blackouts) so I keep my detector by the door. Lost brass is very close to nil.
