Congress better pitch a fit about this. He can't just make-up laws. He has zero authority to do so.

He has no legal authority to make such an order without an act of Congress. I bet this is merely a ploy to mobilize and inflame the libtard base, which is in danger of not showing up at the polls next November.

Worst case, all the private dealers set up tables in the parking lot. There is no way to make or enforce reporting, registration, regulation, or surveillance of private sales without going full Orwell. I don't think even the LEOs will stand for that.

I just finished the last Vince Flynn, Mitch Rapp novels (14 books so far) where some of the senerios played out in the books are so close to being plausible by this administration it is almost like reading a history book. Especially the last one where a philanthropist tries to introduce a virus into the population to reduce the global population and install a global government while silently vaccinating the elite liberals so they can take over and rule.

Same thing with their gun control theory. If they can gain ultimate control over the people with no resistance they will be able to do whatever they want.

I doubt Congress would care.

Unless, they got the impression that they may lose their jobs, if they didn't raise all manner of hell about it.

But, they've let the traitor get away with everything else, so....

I've never understood the phrase, "gun show loop hole". I believe it to be a made up phrase to alarm the uninformed. I've bought from dealers at gun shows, as have family members. Each one required a background check. I just think the uninformed don't realize that background checks happen at gun shows. They don't understand that private sales, are just that... private sales, & the two get confused.

I believe the phrase, "gun show loop hole" is pure propaganda...

Private sales are the target when speaking of "gun show loophole". The aim is for universal background checks...

And then a universal gun registry. When they have that, the confiscation will begin.

Okay, so he signs an EO requiring background checks for private sales. How's he gonna enforce it?

Or...all of a sudden there will be many, many guns lost and stolen from LAC's

The NCIC already has a gun registry called the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. They just want to add private sale so the database is complete as possible.

Too bad they don't make the same effort to vet people coming int to US.

That's easy. A federal mandate to the now federalized police departments goes out. Everyone a police officer has an interaction with gets a pat-down. If you have a gun, they run the numbers. If the numbers come back to someone other than you, you and the "registered owner" go to prison of an illegal transfer and illegal possession, while they spend a bunch more man hours trying to find out who else was involved in the illegal transaction.

Firearms "lost or stolen" will not be defensible in a case of defensive gun use. Any confiscation law will eventually include an inability to use a murderer's, or terrorist's, firearm for salvation, should it be wrested from them.

Wouldn't an interaction and pat-down require probable cause?

Bill, that is a great point. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter, because you are assuming the POTUS respects, defends and follows the Constitution and our federal laws that restrict the federal and state governments. Truth is, they don't care, will do whatever they want, just like they have been.

If the POTUS cared about the people of this country and respected the Constitution, would wouldn't be having this conversation.

I read some documents written by George Maison and James Madison who both said the Second Amendment needed to exist to ensure the people had arms equal to whatever weapons the standing federal military had so the people could take the country back by force in the event of tyranny. That is the exact reason why the Second Amendment was written exactly the way is was. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means just that, but the government has dismantled that right to the weapons we have today. And that's what if the people were to try to take the country back by force today, we would be bringing a rifle to a Drone fight.

The POTUS and elite ruling class only cares about power... Period.

Won't even require an interaction and pat-down. We are already heading toward being able to "scan" people from a distance. Here is an article, where some MIT folks are able to distinguish between people, through walls, using radio waves.

Police already scan license plates... what stops them from a drive-by "gun" scan?

OK, I follow the arrest for possession of a gun not registered to you after stop and pat-down. But what are they going to try you for? A judge will (or at least damned well ought to) insist that you be charged with violation of a criminal statute before he tries and sentences you you to the gaol. What statute will have been violated?

Sure, the charge will be for violating EO13692 (or whatever number it will be).
