Personally, I haven't watched the video of the guy getting shot by a police officer in Chicago, last year. I probably won't, either. So, I will refrain from holding an opinion on the subject.

But, just because I'm not watching the video and forming opinions, that doesn't mean that others aren't. So, here's someone else's opinion (in support of the officer, incidentally ):

I saw the video. I saw multiple video from multiple angles. I have seen video not released to the public that is much longer and tells a bigger picture.

Failure to comply, vandalism, petty theft and being a pain in the butt doesn't warrant a death sentence. When people are on some drugs, like PCP, they are not capable of rational thought. This kid was clearly out of his head, was drifting in the street wi his back to the cop that shot him. All the other officers were calm and talking and this one dude pulled his gun and lay waste to a kid who likely didn't know his own name or where he was at the moment.

Based on what I saw, there was no reason for that kid to die. The AG and the US Attorney saw the same video and believe the video and eyewitness support the opinion that there is enough evidence to support a conviction.

That's just my opinion anyway.
