New to this Forum and Virginia!

Hey all!

I recently moved here from our communist neighbors in the East (Maryland), and am an avid firearms enthusiast. It is a MUCH different gun culture here in Virginia than in Maryland, and I have been surprised (pleasantly) by how fluod the process has been to purchase firearms. The days of HQL and 7 day waiting periods are over for me!

All in all, I don't have many friends in the area as of yet and don't get much free time to get out considering I commute to Maryland still for work about 40 miles each way (I love in Northern VA). Hoping this forum can be a new avenue upon which I can expand my social network and circle of friends. Im in my 20's so as one can expect, it's rather disconcerting moving to an area and only having a very small circle of friends.

Anyways, hopefully I can attend some events posted on this forum and meet some cool people. Take care.

Im in Sterling for those of you who asked whereabouts I moved to. Chrrently waiting to have a tire changed on my car (lol) figured I'd respond! Luckily, I have an AZ CCW so Im covered, but am putting in my paperwork for my VA CHP within the next 24 hours (just for good measure). A Christmas meet and greet would be fun! I've been to Elite with my fiancé before and a buddy of mine who lives out here. Glad to see some folks from Maryland as well!

I live in Pa now but we are considering moving to Virginia in and around June 2016. We like the Massanutten area of Virginia.. We are Conservative, belong to the NRA, I hunt predators and have done for 29 + years now in Pa... Looking forward to bobcat hunting, coyote hunting, fox hunting etc.. I'm also into picking mushrooms in the wild.. I am going to need to know what do I have to do to be able to carry a hand gun in Va? I have a permit for Pa etc. Willing to do what I have to do to carry a concealed weapon in your state... I love to hunt with TC Encore long guns. do a lot of hunting with 17 cal centerfires and the new 17 WSMRF... quite upset that Pa and Va are doing this to law abiding gun carrying citizens.... I am a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard and my wife is a veteran of the U. S. Navy... We are retired Civil Service employees of the Federal Government...
