1. Virginia Beach gun control panel wrap up, indoctrination of children
************************************************************************

Guns Save Lives stickers were on the majority of the people at last night’s panel on how to reduce “gun violence” in Virginia Beach. Despite three pro-gun panelists who were told the discussion would be on ways to fight “gun violence,” and NOT gun control, the discussion was mostly about, you guessed it, gun control from the other panelists and from the three groups of children who were to represent three foreign countries.

The kids were clearly not told to consider any solution other than gun control and they seemed to have gotten all their statistics from gun-control web sites, quoting either totally erroneous numbers (like 60% of gun-related deaths are from accidents) to long-debunked statistics on things like the purported 25% increase gun-related deaths in Missouri after removing handgun purchase permits.

To be fair to the kids, the adult antis on the panel were throwing around bogus numbers like confetti, as well.

But the child that had me both laughing and crying at the same time said proudly to the audience, “The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to keep and bear arms, BUT we have found a way around that!!!” Her suggestion was to require background checks to purchase ammunition, along with a tax on each round. California is pushing this and who wouldn’t want to be like the utopia of California? Isn’t indoctrination wonderful? <eye roll>

Our side was well-represented on the panel, even if vastly out numbered by design.

2. Gun-controller Andy Parker threatens pro-gun state Senator Bill Stanley! Told to “man up” by governor with security squad
************************************************************************

So Andy Parker, the anti-gun politician whose daughter was horrendously murdered on camera by journalist Vester Lee Flanagan, sends a threatening message to pro-gun Senator Bill Stanley, “I’m going to be your worst nightmare you little bastard!” Don’t forget that just after his daughter was murdered, Andy Parker made a distinct point of saying he was going to purchase his first handgun.

Parker also says to Stanley on Facebook in screaming upper-case text (I’ll spare you that), “You’re finest moment, you sorry little coward. You didn’t even have the decency to reach out and offer a lame condolence after my daughter Allison Bailey was murdered in your district. When you see me again, you best walk the other way lest I beat your little ass with my bare hands.”

Certainly Senator Stanley has a right to be concerned by such messages. The second message is an explicit threat as I see it.

No matter how frustrated elected officials have made me over the years, I have never even considered sending such a threatening message to any one of them.

But, as I say frequently, the other side tends to have some serious anger-management problems and it looks like Mr. Parker is no exception to the rule. While he has been through a terrible, terrible tragedy, that doesn’t justify the threats.

Not to be left out of the conversation, our hypocrite-in-charge, Governor McAuliffe tells Stanley to “man up.” This from a man who is surrounded 24/7 by a multi-person security team everywhere he goes, including into gun-free DC!

If anybody could use a little “manning up,’ Governor…

Here is one of many stories on the threat:

'Man up,' McAuliffe says to state senator who reported threat from slain journalist's father
BY GRAHAM MOOMAW Richmond Times-Dispatch

Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Republican state Sen. William M. Stanley Jr. was engaging in a "political stunt" by making a report to the Capitol Police over a harshly worded online comment from the father of slain TV journalist Alison Parker.

"Come on Bill, you're tougher than that," McAuliffe said Thursday morning during a radio appearance on Richmond's WRVA. "Man up. Come on. This is ridiculous."

But Stanley, a Republican from Franklin County, pointed Thursday to a second comment that he said clearly shows a physical threat from Parker, adding that McAuliffe "in effect is condoning threats of violence against elected officials. [PVC: Yeah, I wonder what happens if someone threatens the Governor? Does he “man up,” or do the state police end up knocking on someone’s door?]

The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Stanley made a report to police and obtained an application for a concealed-carry permit after Andy Parker sent him a Facebook message that said: "I'm going to be your worst nightmare you little bastard."

Virginia state senator reports alleged threat by father of slain TV reporter

A state senator from Southwest Virginia told police Wednesday that he had been threatened by the father of the Roanoke TV reporter who was fatally shot during a live broadcast in August.

Parker, whose daughter was gunned down by a former co-worker in August during a live report from Smith Mountain Lake, said the message was intended only as a political threat.

In an interview Thursday, Stanley highlighted another comment, that Parker made Tuesday night beneath a post on Stanley's page touting an NRA endorsement. It read in part: "WHEN YOU SEE ME AGAIN, YOU BEST WALK THE OTHER WAY LEST I BEAT YOUR LITTLE ASS WITH MY BARE HANDS."

"Taken together, it is without a doubt that he means to do me physical harm," Stanley when asked to respond to the governor's radio remarks.

Parker could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Stanley said he discovered the second comment Wednesday night after hearing that Parker said the "worst nightmare" message was not intended as a physical threat. Stanley said someone attempted to erase the second comment, which no longer appears on Stanley's public page. Stanley shared a screen capture of the post with the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

During the radio show, McAuliffe was asked to weigh in on the dust-up before the second comment became publicly known.

Stanley called the governor's "man up" comment "appalling and quite stunning."

"He needs to be helping the healing, not agitating the situation with such flippant comments," Stanley said.

Stanley said McAuliffe and his allies are using Parker, who lives in Henry County, as a "pawn" in the push for gun control.

"I think they should have been a little more careful in the selection of their spokesman and should have been a little more mindful of the emotions that Mr. Parker is going through during a grieving process for a horrible tragedy that occurred to him," Stanley said.

McAuliffe, who has appeared regularly with Parker and praised his high-profile advocacy for stronger gun restrictions, said Parker "shouldn't have written" the "worst nightmare" comment.

"I think Andy needs to be a little smarter in what he says," McAuliffe said. "But I"ll give the guy a break."

Gun control has become a major issue in several high-profile state Senate races, and Parker has appeared in ads that benefit Democratic candidates in key contests in Richmond and Northern Virginia. The legislative elections, which will decide party control of the state Senate, take place Tuesday.

McAuliffe has pushed for background checks on private gun sales and other reforms, but his proposals have not gained much traction in the Republican-controlled General Assembly.

The governor has acknowledged that background-check legislation wouldn't have stopped the killings of Alison Parker and her cameraman, Adam Ward, because the shooter passed a background check. But he has argued that "common-sense" reforms could prevent future tragedies.

McAuliffe said he called the Parker and Ward families shortly after the shootings.

"I want to be the last governor to go through this," McAuliffe said.

McAuliffe said jokingly that Stanley is "cowering today in his home" and "probably has a contingent of police out in front of his house.” [PVC: the hypocrisy of that statement, from McAuliffe of all people, is breathtaking. This is the same man who is so frightened of CHP holders, the most law-abiding of the law-abiding, that he is going to ban them from state agency buildings. Tell me again about how Stanley is the coward, Governor.]

"Listen, if I called the police every time someone went online and said much worse than 'I'm going to be your worst nightmare,' I would spend 24/7 on the phone calling the police," McAuliffe said. "You know what, it's silly season.”

3. Fairfax Supervisor Foust hits new low with campaign shown sign with child and bullet holes
************************************************************************

Anti-gun John Foust is now saying that his opponent, Jennifer Chronis, somehow wants school children shot to death because she didn’t opposed the NOVA Firearms store opening near a school. Funny thing is that Foust knew all about that store moving to the new location in advance and never said a word to oppose the move until after the store had moved and it was politically expedient for him.

Politics at its worst.

Tmac is a grade A Tool.

At what point can we do a recall?

That Parker fellow is a mouthy.... jerk. He gets no break from me. Being a victim of tragic circumstance does not entitle one to behave poorly and in such a juvenile manner. Further, he is a moron. This is clearly evident by the fact that he made threats over the Internet, where nothing is ever truly erased.
