I don't think either one of them has any "common sense". That makes it unlikely either can contribute to a "common sense" discussion or good results.

When a couple liberal/progressive/socialist politicians start using words like "common sense" be very afraid.

Remember the part in the movie, The Princess Bride, where Montoya tells Vizzini, "You keep using that word. I do not think that word means what you think it means."
