I ate at a Waffle House once. Like Randy, I swore off it because of the awful food and dirty room.

Waffle house gets a big fat Foxtrot Uniform for so many reasons I lost count. Just one more reason to wonder how the heck they are still in business.

Isn't this the same franchise that pressed trespassing charges against a CC'er who defended some customers during an armed robbery?

Looks like I'm in the minority but, I like their greasy food...lol. Especially their waffles. Maybe the one I frequent is different. Don't know. Have only been to this one. I've never seen a sign on their entrance saying no guns. I've CC'd about every time I've eaten there......

Is it just that one, or all of them? I have frequented MANY a Waffle House late at night, open carrying. Never said a word to me. Actually gave me a discount.
Of course that was SouthWest Virginia, where people are nicer, and more akin to like-minded thinking.

Kind of what I was thinking Reverenddel....... the one I frequent is in Lexington. I've never had a bad experience there.

Not to cause thread drift but we went to the movies Monday. We went to the Regal Valley View Grande - our usual is the Carmike in Tanglewood. The place was almost empty (2:10 showing in the afternoon). Got our tickets, headed in, then a young girl asked to look in my wifes purse. She was likely 15-17 years - didn't look 18 or more. I asked "Whats this about"? She said just looking for anything unusual. I was CC but apparently not noticeable. Oddly my wife said we won't be going there if that is their attitude.
I'm wondering by what authority do they have to search anyone or anything? Had we challenged the judgement I'm sure we would have been headed home before the movie started. There are no signs that I'm aware of regarding inspections.
What do you guys feel or say if this happens?

I walked out of Kings Dominion when they started that "no weapons of any form" policy around a fifth of a century ago. I have not been back.

Bruce, I don't care if its food, movies, or whatever... If I can't bring a weapon... I'm not going to support that retail business. Its that easy.
Some places, like a hospital, unless I am the person being treated I just ignore the signs. It's kinda hard to keep your weapon hidden if the Doc is giving you the once-over.

Damn shame. I've always loved Waffle House. My roommates in my first apartment had the kitchen decorated to resemble Waffle House. We even had a Waffle House clock and Waffle House ashtrays.
I stopped at WH in NC once, while I was working for the carnival, and had lunch. I noticed, when I went to the jukebox, that it had about 500 free plays. So, as soon as I was done eating, I selectedthe same Bee Gees song 50 times in succession, finished my coffee and cigarette, paid, then left.

Hah...I'm glad somebody else has a sense of humor similar to mine.
A Pink Floyd song by the name of "Echoes" is a 10 minute trainwreck of a song, filled with beeps and blips. While at a small Morgantown bar by the name of "Town Hill," (or as we affectionately called it, "Tankerville") I willingly sacrificed my own money for the sake of the 10-song loop. I did this for no real reason other than the fact that I found it amusing.
Once my friends realized what I had done, they called me an a-hole, and we left for the next bar. Granted, this was back in my college days.

Hah! While reading this, Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" came on Pandora, and my 6 year old cranked the volume and drove mom out of the room!
