Anyone Else....

Is anyone else tired of hearing about the Pope? Or is it just me?
Also, he kinda creeps me out, a little bit. This whole "Pope of the people" thing doesn't sit well with me. And, he seems to say what folks want to hear. Obama thought that he was great, apparently.
On the other hand, he had a long conversation with John Boehner, and Boehner resigned the next day. Maybe we should send the Pope to have a one on one, heart to heart with some other public figures.
Then, let him go home so I don't have to hear about him anymore.

People act like he is somebody, like he's some sort of phone to god. But tell me this if he is so holy why hide behind bullet proof glass, why be afraid to die? To me he's just some guy in a dress, sort of like caitlyn jenner, because I'm not catholic nor christian and if I want to talk to god I talk to him, if he's listening he'll hear me.
I'm not against catholics or the pope or anything like that it's just the whole damn world doesn't need to stop because the pope decided to take a vacation! I am a firm believer that we are all equal and that anyone who thinks themselves better than anyone else is deserving only of disdain.

This thread is part of the ongoing liberal war on Catholicism.

"ongoing liberal war on Catholicism." I get the liberal war part, but how this thread becomes a part of it is a mystery to me.

Sorry, I have been blinded by the lack of journalistic integrity and skills of late. No sense of humor.

A large portion of my family is Catholic, or was raised that way, anyway. My mother grew up Catholic, and attended a Catholic private school. So, I have nothing against Catholics. The Roman Catholic Church, as an institution, on the other hand, I do have a problem with. But, my problem is mainly a difference in theology. I also differ in theology when it comes to Calvinism, too.
I take issue with Pope Francis, not because he's Catholic , but more because it seems like he's NOT Catholic. I doubt that he's even Christian. He sounds very Unitarian, to me. I can't say what's in his heart; that's between him and God. But he surely walks and quacks like a Marxist Muscovy.
Regardless, even if he did come off as the perfect Catholic, I don't particularly care about his visit. Why would I? Why would anyone who is not Catholic? As a protestant Christian, I think it's cool when Billy Graham comes to town, and might even show up to the event, but continuous news coverage of that would also drive me nuts. A preacher is a man. That's it. No less susceptible to sinful behavior than myself.

Ed Zachary. 22% of the population is Catholic, yet the news covered take offs and landings of the plane carrying the Pope to the exclusion of any local or national news.

Didn't watch any of his comings and goings. Wife and her side are Catholic. The Baptists call Catholics "professors", meaning they profess the faith but don't really practice it. Biggest problem I always had with Catholics is party like an animal Monday through Saturday, go get absolved on Sunday . . . wash, rinse, repeat.
This pope practices politics. STFU about climate change and all that crap. Work on fixing your church and castrating the pedophiles. Then come talk to me about how my SUV is killing us.
