I had just watched the video before I signed on here. I have no words.

This country is on the brink of descending into chaos of biblical proportions. God help us all.

They posted a screenshot of the guy dressed in dark clothes, appears to be white and scruffy with a pistol in each hand.

At this point, I tend to believe it is a local incident. I could be wrong.

I just watched the video moments ago as well...that's a hard thing to watch.

Both young and engaged. My heart goes out to their families.

Chris Hurst, boyfriend of Alison, is the anchorman for Channel 7 at 6pm and 11pm and we watch him everyday. Looks like they were planning to get married.

Our hearts go out to all of them and their families.

Getting closer all the time...This is really getting scary. We just spend Wednesday, Thursday & Friday at the lake in a rental with out son only about 2 miles from this area. My son's girlfriends grandfather rented a pontoon boat from Captain's Quarters - straight across the street from the Bridgewater Plaza.

Turns out it was workplace violence. Former employee of the station.

How much you want to bet this is another situation were before the shooting occurred, the shooter had zero criminal background, legally purchased the weapons, and no amount of background checks would have prevented this.

Also, I find it interesting that the shooter recorded the shooting from his prospective and posted it online, and the entire internet has been scrubbed. I can't find it anywhere.

Marc,
It is laughable to hear TM state the exact quoted comments regarding the need for stricter gun control and better background checks. It's the only response they can come up with - AND - there is not one bit of information about the shooter other than he worked at the station, but nothing about his gun, how obtained, his mental condition or any other details.

But we need stricter gun control...

They suspended his twitter account according to one of the postings.

I just heard the shooter is still alive. He was a nut case with a lot of problems.

WDBJ7 is located in Roanoke about 40 miles from Bridgewater. It seems Flannigan almost knew the news reporter, Alison, and cameraman, Adam, were going to be there. There are several shops in the area but it seemed a bit early in the day to be there by accident.

One of the stories I read said he filed discrimination suits at two other stations he worked at. Both were dismissed. He was just a disgruntled person looking to get rich quick.

As far as McAwful goes, he's a parrot.
