So this art friend of mine is doing something artistic about War.

To which I countered "Have you been in the military?" No. "Have you ever been to a country that has been besieged?" No. "Have you talked to people who have fought in conflicts?" No. "Have you even shot a freakin' weapon?" No.

But... he's an artist.

So he's got his "opinion" of War artistically.

He'll remain a friend... but if you don't have all the facts, HOW THE HELL DO YOU HAVE A VALUED OPINION!?!?

I don't smoke weed, I can't even smoke cigarettes. I had no opinion on the matter, other than seeing "smokers" who range from recreational to "OMG! HOW DO YOU FUNCTION!?!?". When it became apparent that it's going to play into the national politics, I researched it.

...and promptly changed my opinion based on factual evidence.

(Shrugs) It's not like it's a difficult thing. Hell, I use the internet to fix everything! You can't take 20 minutes, and get both sides, and decide for yourself?

Opinion is irrelevant.

In high school, my opinion on fighting was that it was painful, and I preferred to avoid it. However, on occasion, someone would take issue with something that I said or did, and they wanted to fight it out. No avoiding it. Hell, I think that more often than not, they were bullys, and were asserting dominance (or trying to).

War is the same way, I assume. If one nation is hell bent on going to war with another, that other nation is going to be at war, regardless of anyones opinion.

War will be a constant companion until the Second Coming. Those unprepared for it are simply stupid.
