CHANGE IS UPON US IN AMERICA

It is time to discuss what is here and will be intensifying in our country, America. American pride is lost, years of political correctness, labeling, separating and dividing has made us a nation torn apart. People of all backgrounds, religions, races are near civil war with one another, violence continues to spread like a plague and our over militarized Government / Law enforcement officers no longer see us as those they swore to serve and protect but rather through the eyes of a heavily combat equipment laden force looking down upon the domestic enemies, no more is there team work, care for one another in our communities and outreach to the disadvantaged. Many of us here took an Oath an Oath that will last until our death yet are we not already dead? When will it be time for us all in unity to say NOT ON MY WATCH? When do we begin public speaking, outreach and community organization? When do we share the utmost valuable skills we learned in service to the United States to our neighbors, communities and law enforcement? If not us then who, as I watch the silence is deafening and the times are worsening, unless we reach out and dispel fear then chaos will ensue. We each have a unique ability to touch the lives of others and to pass on the message of Duty, Honor and Country and in doing so we become stronger, united and a people to be reckoned with. I'm sure many of us recall these words still today "Oath of Enlistment

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." They ring true and loud in all our hearts. How much longer can we sit and watch the decay and destruction of our country? Do we as citizen soldiers not owe the American People a chance a chance to learn, build unity, teamwork and share our skill sets that would be applicable in their everyday lives? I no one thing for certain, I have watched long enough and it is time to get involved, time to speak out, time to share and build communities and teams that work for the common good of their neighbor. I welcome any feedback, constructive criticism in general input. We have to start somewhere why not let it begin on a gun blog?

With all my years working with and for the government, one thing I have learned is, if you want to start a revolution, don't write about it on the internet. That just gets your plans spoiled and and likely tossed in jail.

I don't think anyone hear likes what's happening in our country, but we have to try to use the civilized tools the founders left for us, before we go to war. If we can't get people to vote our way because they don't believe or understand the facct that we are $215 trillion in debt, there is no way they will rally behind a revolution. It would be over before it started.

Educate people with the reality that we have burdened the next 2 or 3 generations with a mess we could never clean-up in our lifetime. Then, get the to vote Conservative or Libertarian every time we can.

The problem is there are more people getting handouts from government then are working, how are we going to educate them not to take handout?

There's a man on the soapbox that should be heard out. The very reason the wags and wonks are trying to shut him up and make him go away is why men with ears should listen.

The ballot box would be the next box.
Just keep that other box dry.

I've said it before... we need to get representation that will pass voting laws that make it so you can't vote if you are part of the system and/or not paying taxes. People getting free stuff will ALWAYS vote for the person who promises to keep giving them free stuff.

A wise man once said, "If you need a helping hand, you should start with the one at the end of your arm."

Also, term limits for all federal politicians and non-elected employees cannot create rules that have the force of law.

I don't read the OP as advocating taking up arms against the government.

Advocating a revolution at the ballot box ought not get you thrown in jail. If it does, then we are sho 'nuf in a world of trouble.

I read it as inciting something other than a trip to the ballot box... which is why I specifically mentioned the ballot box. Maybe I read too far into it. :dunno:

I have to highlight (select) the text so my PC will set a blue background and change the text to white. If not, I would have a massive headache.

Along similar lines, I just got the following we-mail from a friend who happens to make his living as a full-time lobbyist. It has made the rounds before, but becomes more and more relevant as things continue to go to hell:

3 short sentences
When you vote for an incumbent you
are perpetuating our government as it is
now. Nothing will change.

These three, short sentences tell you a
lot about the direction of our current
government and cultural environment:

1.) We are advised NOT
to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few
lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL
gun owners by the actions of a few
lunatics.

Funny how that works. And here's another
one worth considering.

2.) Seems we
constantly hear about how Social Security is
going to run out of money.

How come we never hear about welfare or
food stamps running out of money? What's
interesting is the first group "worked for"
their money, but the second didn't.

Think about it..... Last but not least:

3.) Why are we cutting
benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for
our military and cutting our army to a level
lower than before WWII, but we are not
stopping payments to illegal aliens such as
monthly payments for each child, money for
housing, food stamps, free education
including college and also the right to
vote?

Am I the only
one missing something?

Thanks for sharing. These are ideas and concepts that have crossed my mind in the past. The general population has long been 'conditioned' not to think or question these important issues - sheep blindly following the Shepherd.

Yep, which Is why I've pretty much gotten to the point where I vote "any damn-body-else" everytime, regardless of who's running.

Why? Beacuse it is. Makes a nice little sound bite but it's more complicated. First, MOST people far outlive what they pay in = it's ain't their damn money, it's welfare. Same, same. Second, a HUGE portion of the SSA payouts are entitlements. Disability & other payments - that's where we need to make the cuts. Root out every POS that's claiming "disability" while they're not.

The armed forces is the simply a welfare system. What possible reason could we have for needing 400,000 + members? 99.99% of which are worthless. Want to fix the deficit? Simple, cut the biggest expense - the DOD. One assinine example - costs a BILLION $$$$ a year to operate a carrier...and we have how many? The BS excuse is we need to "project power"......wow, really? Is there anyone on the planet who isn't aware we can reach out & touch them anywhere on the planet.

A raise? Give me a f'n break. An E7 puts in a loan application......$2,000 a month listed as a housing allowance. So there's welfare, a f'n free mortgage payment & a nice one at that. Add in medical, clothing, and a child allowance = welfare, same as the others you mention. Not bad for someone who just likely couldn't figure out anything better to do.

Cut the deficit & eliminate the welfare - cut the DOD down to the bones, a handful of special ops groups & a few other useful groups.

Bailey960:

Say what??? How much would those SS payments be worth if they had been invested over the years? Even given the interest available through Govt. bonds, the return would be close to covered, so, no, it's not welfare.

Military might could stand some paring...I don't know, but I do know that job perqs are not welfare.

People forget... When FDR originally put in SSA, they WERE accounts for people. But Congress made the change, because it wouldn't pay out for some time.

In effect, by "best intentions", they paved the road to hell.

Perhaps the problem is our tax system. Our government is not going to ask us how to spend our money because they know they will get it anyway. We can't stop taxes from getting to them because our system doesn't require our concent for them to be paid.

I think if we could stop paying taxes directly we would have better influence on where they are spent.

I remain so very disgusted that the one holding the highest seat in the world would rather help those coming across our border, milking our programs, not supporting any of those programs, fussing about losing monetary funds because they pushed minimum wages too high, commiting crime up to including murder and rape that helping others who have paid into these funds, lost their jobs because businesses send them offshore avoiding business taxes and those others get nothing. Just read today that minimum wages in Ca created $30.00 pizzas.

We continue to complain about the programs being sucked dry yet all the guidelines remain in place to protect those draining the funds.

We bait people to come to our country by offering welfare, food stamps, housing, drivers licenses (and who pays their MANDATORY insurance?) - so much for free and I am pissed becuase they accept it - and I can't stop it. I don't think we need a wall but we need to stop making the offer of free stuff.

No issue with immigration but they do NOT deserve anything without first contributing to the programs.

Dude, I usually agree with you on a lot of stuff... but you are way off right there. Its not welfare, its Congress Approved theft!!!

Since I started paying in to SS, I have paid out over $250,000. I have paid almost $60,000 into Medicare. By the time I am "allowed to retired" and collect the maximum amount on the accounts I have been paying into (70), those numbers will be close to (if not more than) double to about $600,000.

Now, here's the kicker... my life expectancy is a 78% chance of living 75.65 years. WTF? There is no way they are going to give me $600K back in 5 years. In fact, they keep sending me letters that I will collect $21,000 a year. And that is assuming I live long to collect.

The truth is, I'm getting robbed for half a million dollars or MORE. I could retire for 28 years on $600,000 at $21k a year. And If I had that $600,000+ to invest in the markets, I may be able to retire perpetually on more like $45k a year.

What I find absolutely ridiculous is the Federal government that forces us to give them money to put in a saving account I will have to beg for access to if I live long enough, because we can't be trusted to take care of ourselves, is the very same Federal government that is $215,000,000,000,000 dollars in the RED!!!

Yea... they are way better at handling my money than I am. That's why I have such little debt that I could be 100% debt free in 30 days or less (if I so choose), vs. it would take them taking every dollar of every American for the next 12 years and stop spending any money for 12 years before they break even.
