I need new ears...what are you using?

As the title suggests, I'm polling the audience on which types of ear protection each of you are using.
Most recently, I've skimmed through the SureFire product catalog, specifically the EP4 line, and am wondering if anybody else uses SureFire ear protection, or if there are other suggestions that I might want to take a look at.

I've been using Walker's Alpha series for about two years now. They are a vast improvement over the no-name Wal-Mart mossy oak ear muffs I was using. And they don't whistle when the wind is blowing, which gets very distracting.

I use those cheap, disposable, foam earplugs. I buy them in bulk jars from Walmart.
I never have cared much for earmuffs.

I use Howard Leight Sport electronics, but I plan to upgrade to some custom fit plugs with active filtering electronics. Not cheap, but they would do double-duty as motorcycle hearing pro.

I keep it simple & I don't like muffs - SureFire Defenders Ultra Max for me. Work fine, no complaints & they're comfy.

My wife & I too use the Howard Leight electronics, work pretty nicely. It's nice so we can have a "normal" level convo with booms going off.

Carol and I use the cheap foam ear plugs and a set of ear muffs especially when shooting a lot. The other day we shot our AR's for several hours.. Without the plugs and muffs I would have had a headache for several days.

We do all of our shooting outside never at an indoor range . I have always preferred shooting outside because of the noise level.

I use the electronic muffs, which I like I lot. I forget which brand I have, but they were worth the money. Since I'm already deaf in one ear, and since I usually wind up next to the guy with the elephant rifle, I usually double up with a foam plug in my good year.

Same here and we use them when we attend NASCAR events too.

My sister also uses those cheap foam earplugs. She ordered a large box of earplugs that were prepackaged in pairs. She keeps a handful in her purse, another handful in her glovebox, etc.
That way, she has them when she's shooting, or watching her husband's band play, or any other noisy event. And, since they are prepackaged (and cheap), she can offer obviously clean, unused earplugs to others that might want them.

Sometimes I'll plug my ears with my fingers...but then I just stand there looking at the gun. Haven't figured out how to fire with this method yet...I'm half-way there.

Lately, my primary hearing protection has been my 762SDN6 and I compliment it with the SureFire Sonic Defenders Plus (EP4). Works like a charm.

I've had Peltors go bad on me, used the Walmart Remington brand electronic muffs (they're ok), but I love my Howard Leight's. They're easy on the batteries too. The best noise reduction is with the foamies.

I ordered a pair of Howard Leight QB2's, which unfortunately showed up damaged/broken. I returned them, and have been looking at SureFire plugs, elec. muffs, as well as foam inserts.
Decisions, decisions..

I get headaches from most inner ear plugs... but I don't have that issue with the EP4's. They form shape to the opening of your ear and hold themselves into place instead of having to constantly re-seat them. They have an easy to connect/disconnect lanyard. I use them without the lanyard, so nothing gets tugged on. Plus, the EP4's have inserts so you can increase or decrease the sound dampening. They really are pretty good for passive protection.
I just can't find a good pair of electronic muffs that will last a full day of shooting. All of the ones I've tried (up to $200 in price) chew through batteries in about 4 hours... sometimes less.
