"You can’t argue with someone who is lying about his position or whose position is not based upon reason. You can talk all day about how crime has diminished where concealed carry is allowed, while it flourishes in Democrat blue cities where gun control is tightest. You can point to statistics showing that law-abiding citizens who carry legally are exponentially less likely to commit gun crimes than other people. You can cite examples of armed citizens protecting themselves and their communities with guns. You can offer government statistics showing how the typical American is at many times greater risk of death from an automobile crash, a fall, or poisoning than from murder by gun."

YEP! Been saying this for years! I had one say "Can't ya'll just use rubber bullets?"

(shakes head) Idjuts.

"Rubber bullets"? As in rub them out? Erasers? Lead works fine for rubbing out or erasing, and no trees were violated in the manufacturing process.

Reminds me of the old expression - never argue with an idiot, they just bring you down to their level & beat you with experience.

Had the same experience, there's just no reasoning with them - they simply ignore facts.

And besides all that, people might not be able to tell the difference. :hysterical:

How's that old saying go? "Never argue with an idiot lest you be mistaken for one."

Saw another one the other day . . . was it here? Not sure. Anyway - "Why is it all the pea-brains have watermelon mouths?"

My grandma had a plague that read, "Better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Thomas Sowell recently made the same point about non fact-based arguments from the left, but he didn't confine it to gun-control; instead exposing the lack of substance in the entire liberal program. He, as usual, was eloquent and succinct. If Barack Obama had fired Valerie Jarret early on and given her position as shadow POTUS to Sowell, he'd be known by now as the black Reagan.
