How long are we going to put up with this crap?

I love the part where Lt Rhoads is said to have claimed that failing to contact the building management was "on point" and that collecting intelligence from the security guard before barging in didn't matter.

How long? It's the new normal, all part of the dumbing down of America. You'll note he points to the screw ups while in the service - same, same. Dumbed down.

You take a group where you have a standard to be met before joining/hiring (armed forced, police, you name it) & the minute you apply said standard some group (you pick) will start the whining about it being unfair, unjust, or discriminatory. In todays society instead of saying "sorry, you did make the grade, better luck in your next career choice" we simply lower the standard. The is the process across the board - armed forces, education, careers.........you name it. In this case you end up in a circumstance where procedures have to be so simple even a chimp could follow them - can't have decisions being made, egad, how would they ever do that?

At one time in this country "fair" meant one standard applied to all, thanks to the kum-by-ya cretins "fair" now means dumbing it down so even the lowest common denominator can meet the standard.

What kills me in this is that the departments that are run like this are often run by Democrats who have a foot on the throat of civilians policy. While I support law enforcement overall I am glad that these types of abuses are getting the spotlight they deserve.

I understood the risks of war when I enlisted as an infantryman. Police officers should understand the risks in their jobs when they enroll in the academy, as well. That means knowing that personal safety can’t always come first. That is why it’s service. That’s why it’s sacrifice.
The last paragraph is a point well made. It's unfortunate that the career of a LEO has been deteriorating in a steady fashion, from a selfless profession into a tyrannical one. While it's comforting to believe in a 'more good officers than bad' mentality, ignorance is bliss. The QC procedure is in need of a complete overhaul.

Take out immunity by default from police.
In my country, police shoots maybe 2 people per year, and then they aim at legs. Because they know that if they do something wrong, they get very fast in jail.
