A Different View of Trump

I do not fully support the idea of a "President Trump". I'm still not certain that he's serious about this thing, and even so, I still have my doubts about the man.
Here's Jonah Goldberg on Trump:

He makes good points, but I get the impression that The National Review has more in common with the "establishment GOP " than they'd care to admit. So, I take it with a grain of salt.

Trump has a long history of talking out of his backside. As they say down in Texas, he's all hat and no cattle.

Trump is a well coifed mouth. He got lots of support that last time he did this, and he never officially entered the race. Frankly, I think he's bored.

I think Trump will soon run out of mileage on the immigration issue. It is getting worn out. We have all heard it - he needs to move onto another topic where he has knowledge.

Well, let's not have him change topics, just yet.
The fun thing about Trump, and Jonah Goldberg missed this, is that he says things that embarrass and hurt the GOP. And, considering that the GOP embarrasses and hurts conservatives on a regular basis, this is, oddly, a good thing. In talking about the immigration in such blunt terms, he's forcing the GOP into a corner. He's making the GOP look bad to its base. The base needs to understand the shortcomings of the GOP in its current state.
However, it's early in the game, and the general public has a notoriously short memory. Let's not rush the man through the topics. We wouldn't want him to run out of them too soon.

I think trump stirs things up nicely. Do I think he will be president. I really don't know. But I like that he makes everyone change their game.

I saw a poll saying that even though he currently leads republican hopefuls, he would lose to Hillary. Just what the country needs. Another Ross Perot to throw the election to the freakin' obamunists.
