Well it seemed to take a while but now looks like some are wising up to defense...particularly Concealed (undercover) carriers.

I don't think this is uncommon. I believe a lot of churches have wised up and have members who carry. I work with a guy who is part of his church's security team. He carries concealed and no one even knows he is carrying or so he says. Too bad our most precious asset, our kids, aren't protected at school.

Perhaps we should appeal to the Churches for support of change.

I know for sure at my church there are several of my fellow members packing heat during Sunday service...ready to rain down fire and brimstone to whoever wishes to have a faster and more intimate introduction to his maker.

Only illegal if the church board, or pastor disapproves!

Depending on the Church denomination, the Church board could very well overrule the pastor. The pastor could be dead set against guns in Church, but the board could overrule that. Or vice-versa.

Or, the Church Board, the pastor, and the congregation could all be pro-gun, but the governing body of the denomination could be anti-gun, and have the final say. An example similar to this would be the case of the priest who held concealed carry classes in the Church building, but was commanded to stop by his superiors.

I'm not a big fan of denominational Churches, partly for this reason. Too much politics; gets in the way of worship.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were more old ladies packing heat in my church, than men.

Considering that Sunday morning is one of the most segregated times in America, it seems natural for it to be a place for hate crimes to occur.

Strange. My church is anything but segregated...

"good and sufficient reason"

I know I fear for my life every time I attend church. Isnt that good and sufficient reason?

On a more thoughtful note though, I do think it is a matter of time before an Islamic attack occurs on/in a church. I plan for it.
