Fudds are right in the same broad category as white Progressives and the pervy beta-males that suborn themselves to chase after Feminists.

I cry BS. Dude probably isn't even real. A made up fantasy to push the anti-gun agenda...

Washington Post is the most bias liberal rag in the country and I don't put anything past them.

I have been a life member of the NRA since 1994 and donate regularly. I have never been robo-called, nor have I ever heard of anyone being robo-called. As soon as I read his claims that he was robo-called as the result of a firearms purchase, I said to myself "this guy is completely full of crap."

The entire article is extremely suspect, from the robo-call claim to the shop-talk lingo he uses in descibing himself as a hunter. The piece is written to attract gun-owners and make them feel animosity towards the NRA for stealing the common-sense message to one of radical tin-hattery. If he is real, he is the Brady Campaign's poster boy for what they want for America - nothing but shotguns and single-shot rifles for us ordinary people.

He describes his guns as "made for shooting animals, not killing people". Pure ignorance - guns aren't made to shoot a particular something, they are simply made to function as designed. A gun manufacturer quality control doesn't reject a product from it's assembly line because it's found to work better on humans than deer. Ludicrous. And yet as we have all seen in the media, statements like these persist by anti-gun people and further points an educated reader to view this article with much suspicion.

Then this "person", by using a story of a face-to-face intruder incident that happened in the past, argues that a gun at her home couldn't have prevented her death because she was killed at the front door so fast. But then the story never continues - we never hear about what happened to her husband and child. According to Wikipedia, the husband was shot 3 times and the child survived. I wonder if the husband also died so quickly that the could have never defended himself?!?? From what I can gather, it's only through sheer chance that the intruder didn't murder the kid. If the husband had had a gun - I wonder....

And then the article ends by linking today's liberal political victories with the gay marriage ruling and the confederate flag and how the winds of culture are changing in America. That we are a dying cause and that our numbers are dwindling.

As I said in my other post "It isn't going to end with the confederate flag...", the liberals are trying to ride a wave of political momentum right now and they want to get their dream projects done. They aren't going to stop until we live in a European style socialist country...

Whatever your opinions are of the NRA (and yes I have heard I have understood the pros and the cons from gunowners), no one can deny they are the largest and most effective obstacle that keeps the liberals from accomplishing their dream - a ban of most (and in some circles all) firearms to the public. I contribute to three pro-gun organizations, but please maintain membership and activity with the NRA. If you put all your money into one of the lesser groups and not the NRA, it's like voting for a third party candidate in an election.

Circle the wagons boys.

Make sure you introduce the joy of gun ownership to as many people as you can - power though popular culture. It's all a numbers game now.

Personally, I can't say that I'm a big fan of the NRA, either. They seem too willing to compromise, from what I have read. (I will concede the possibility that I misunderstood what I was reading; it's been a while since I've given them any thought) The NRA serves an important purpose, though, and that is undeniable.

The guy mentions the loss of his friend. Truly a sad and heartbreaking situation. However, when he described them, what I read was a description of easy targets. He described people that were, probably, very obviously unarmed.

I had a guy tell me, one time, that he didn't care much for handguns, because "they ain't no good for nothin' but killin' a man." Well, one, that is provably false. But, assuming, for the sake of argument, that he was correct; so what? As it happens, people find themselves in a situation, every day, in which they need a firearm for that specific purpose. Welcome to the real world. Sometimes reality sucks.

We have to support GOA. I think GOA gets way more done for us then the NRA, but NRA has the spot light and are on our side. So, I'll take it.

No NRA and our gun rights would look like D.C. and Chicago all over the country. I pay them yearly for that reason alone.

I don't want to get into a war on which pro-gun advocacy group is better...if you like the GOA, by golly give to the GOA! But please do it IN ADDITION to the NRA, the GOA is great...yeah they are NO COMPROMISE. I understand - but 5 MILLION MEMBERS vs. 300,000 is no contest when it comes to political muscle. I'm sorry - that's just the reality of the situation. As I said - it's a numbers game: both in money and in members.

I'll quote ole Doc Ingram (when he ordered me to Join the NRA when I turned 18) again.............

" Even if you think they're wild-eyed gun crazies; we NEED them to offset the wild-eyed anti-gun crazies."

Like the man said: Love 'em or hate 'em, we need 'em.

As I said, it is undeniable that the NRA serves an important purpose, regardless of my personal opinion of them. They are absolutely necessary, and you won't hear me say otherwise.

The reason I support the NRA... They're the biggest target.

GOA, and VCDL, hit like guerilla raiders in lobbyists, and political movement. NRA is like an Aircraft carrier IE: "BOMB MAGNET".

What Rev said; while the anti's are busy poking the NRA with sticks (because that's the only weapon they allow themselves, lol) other organizations are free to do their thing, uninhibited.

That, right there, is an important function.
