More gun laws from the Dems

I sometimes wonder if the libs know what they are saying.

More gun laws, registration, etc. Then they cite Carol Bowne's case - the lady that was waiting for her license and was stabbed to death in her driveway by her ex-boyfriend. How is more gun laws going to fix this problem? He didn't use a gun but a knife...but more gun laws are needed.

They still can't get it through their heads that criminals don't follow laws - proof from Carol Bowne story. Her ex-boyfriend had a restraining order to stay away from her. Went to her home and stabbed her to death.

Days left until new POTUS is sworn in - Can't wait to celebrate:

They don't know, and don't care. It just doesn't matter as long as the ideology gets center stage. :coffee:

Trust me, no one is going to feel much like celebrating after we see who's going to be our next POTUS. Call it a hunch.

I know I won't be there in person to see Hillary's inauguration speech.

I am betting after the South Carolina church massacre that a new gun control push is coming.

Yep, I was right. From the Washington Compost:

Hours after the massacre, Riley called for bolstered gun-control laws, saying: “I personally believe there are far too many guns out there, and access to guns, it’s far too easy. Our society has not been able to deal with that yet.”

A decades-long advocate for gun control, Riley said the the killings were “another example of why” more measures are necessary.

“This is just a very heartbreaking and tragic example of why it is needed,” he said.

The problem is, people like him don't understand that if the badguy didn't have a gun, he would have chained the doors and lit the place on fire or placed bombs ahead of time. Just as many people would have died. Its not the guns. Its the crazy person killing people.

The Okalahoma city bombing comes to mind. Would gun control have stopped that? Obviously not.

So predictable:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/pos ... -gun-laws/

"President Obama on Thursday expressed “deep sorrow” over the “senseless murders" in Charleston, S.C., where nine people were killed in a church shooting Wednesday night, blaming ineffective gun laws and issuing a sharp condemnation of the politics surrounding gun control legislation."

"We don't have all the facts, but we do know that once again innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hands on a gun," he continued. "Now is the time for mourning and for healing, but let's be clear: At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency."

Three things come to mind:

1. The murderer has been arrested twice in the past year. He is "in the system" and I'm sure the police had the opportunity to discover his racism. With all the invasive surveillance capabilities the cops have now, why didn't they keep tabs on this guy instead of some Tea Party members?

2. If there had been another gun in the room, lives would have been saved.

3. (Putting on my Leftist mindset) What if this is a false flag operation, and somebody in the Obama/Sharpton/Bloomberg camp incited him?

The angle they take on new gun ban legislation will be interesting, since accounts thus far have indicated the killer used a single handgun and reloaded it at least five times. So, "high capacity" or "military style" bans will have no basis. Not that having no real basis for new legislation has stopped them before.
