That's a 96% failure rate. That's $7,305,098,000 for a 4% success rate. Tell me again how this is not all security theater designed to line pockets?

Frakin' was better when the National Guard was running the program directly after 9/11.

It's ridiculous how much money has been wasted, how many travellers assaulted, how much foot fungus spread... for a bunch of worthless effin' security guards.

It's not about security, it's about getting used with submission.

Higher than I thought it would be. But they're really good at finding water bottles and nail clippers.

I've said from day one, security is an illusion. Its not how safe you are; its how safe you feel. As long as the people think its working, they will never object and it will never go away.

After hearing all the stories about The TSA....I'm surprised it's that high !

The thing that gets me? Regional Airports can REJECT TSA, and create their own security!

After these numbers? the Big Hubs really should think about kicking out TSA, and doing it with their own regional police forces (Most big airports have their own police forces, like Capital Police)

Presumably, they can find the coffee machine, the restrooms, their paychecks, the way home, and the bar; with better than 4% accuracy?

Not too long ago, we took my daughter and son-in-law to Dulles to send them to their first duty station. Was told we could get gate passes to see them off. Before I could even form the words NO FRACKIN' WAY, I was overruled by my wife and both of his parents.

So here we go through the groping gauntlet. I got rid of everything metal I remembered I had, but still got nailed by the metal detector. The TSA douchebag said, "You've been randomly selected by the machine for further screening, please step over here." I pulled two quarters out of my pocket and said, "Random my ass!" Wouldn't you know it, he copped an attitude!

Had to go through the I-see-you-naked superman machine and he then put on rubber gloves to pat down my clothing. Finding no incendiary or explosive devices on this Caucasian-American, he told me I could go. The others thought it fairly humorous that I was "selected" for further scrutiny. Me? Not so much.

Meanwhile, several middle-eastern types in the 18-30 age range made it through unscathed. That all comes with knowing how to work the system. Maybe I should change my mailing address to somewhere in Northern Idaho so they'd have good reason to think I'm a domestic terrorist.

Wife and I flew out of Dulles two two years ago. No problems. Arrive in Hawaii (parents live there), relax for a day, then hop on a local bird to fly to the Big Island. The security folks there are giving our bags some real scrutiny. I think, "Huh, they are giving my wife's pills a lot of investigation." Then I hear the words that chill me to the bone. "Looks like 9mm."

Uh-oh.

They open the bags, and sure enough, there is a magazine of 9mm for my wife's Shield. We had just come back from driving to MI, and had missed it when re-packing for HI. The Honolulu police arrive, and one of the cop's first questions is, "HEY! Is that for the Shield?" When I answer in the affirmative, he asks, "Nice! How's it shoot?" My dad said from across the small terminal he could see the color come back to my face when I realized this cop was a gun guy.

I told him we had flown out of Dulles with that and how did they miss it, etc. They all laughed... evidently the scuttlebutt is that Dulles security is draconian in all the wrong ways. More about process and being in control than actually finding stuff.

Missing the ammo, throwing my laptop across the line and damaging it, all the stuff I've seen happen in other lines... I am not surprised at the 96% number.

Speaking of Dulles.....

I flew out of Dulles in summer 2002. Was with my wife, & then 8, 5, & 3yr old. For whatever reason, my flight had a bunch of middle eastern people wearing the rags on their heads, & the women with those scarf thingies.... All of the security people were either black or middle eastern appearing. After going through all the security stuff..... we were literally at our gate, called for boarding & heading into the tunnel to get on the plane when this TSA weenie, pulled me aside. I was the only white person boarding besides my family.... I was shocked to say the least, & asked huh..? For what..? Soon as I asked that, 2 more TSA weenies came over. They told my wife & kids to board the plane. My 5yr old started crying.... "What are they doing to my Daddy..?"

After patting me down again.... this very large woman started interrogating me. Asked me where I was going, where I'd been, etc. I was pretty offended, & getting pretty hot. I told her it was none of her business, & I thought it was bullshit that I was stopped as I was boarding my plane after being through two security shakedowns prior. I asked if it was my pale skin, or the Harley Davidson logo on my shirt...?! This is STILL America right...?! She wanted to detain me longer, perhaps to miss my flight, cause she was a _._._._ but, the "released" me to board my flight which, literally started to taxi the moment I sat down.

I ended up filing a complaint when I got home. Have flown a couple dozen times since...have never been shook down like that again. Although, I haven't flown out of Dulles again either

Most of the Africans you see running security are Ethiopian Christians, who have absolutely no love for Islamists. They also know where their funding is coming from, though, so they adhere strictly to the "most not offend anyone that may be a protected class!" message from DHS....

The purpose of the TSA has nothing to do with security. The agency has two purposes:

1. Making Americans inured to being treated like cattle by the "Authorities" for when the .gov turns up the heat.

2. Creating a corps of hundreds of thousands of unionized government employees (can't say "workers") who will reliably vote for and contribute to Democrats to expand their power and income.

Remember, the stated purposes of big-government programs are merely propaganda cover stories that have nothing to do with their real purposes.

See? This is why I refuse to fly. If I can't drive there, I stay home. I'm not subjecting my self to that nonsense.
