Proud father and father-in-law

Back in August, last year, my daughter married a young man who graduated from VT. The day before he graduated, he commissioned in the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lt.

Anyone who has been "in" knows the hurry-up-and-wait routine the military puts you through. They kept him on hold for a year, as they are allowed to do. He and my daughter worked at various jobs saving money while they waited for the AF to get off their keisters.

Well, he finally got his orders and he and my daughter are enjoying their first duty station somewhere on the wrong side of the Atlantic. I say "their" first duty station because everyone forgets that spouses and the kids serve as well.

If you keep ALL the men and women in uniform, their spouses and kids, in your prayers you'll include my daughter and son-in-law. Thanks! :iwojima:

Good for them!

I do hate the policy of making new commissions Inactive Reserve - complete cost saving tool. So many better ways this could be handled...

Sounds like a good strong family. They will definitely be in our thoughts and prayers.
