Yeah, it's been a while since I've been on... but figured I'd come back and chat for a bit.

Here's a look at one I put together a while back, it's a .50 Beowulf. Lots of fun.... and ready for zombies.

Loading 350 gr hollowpoints and 500 gr soft points.... it's a blast (literally) to shoot!

Always figured one of those would make a nice hawg gun.

I'll let you know if i ever get the chance to find out. Have a buddy in GA that's got an open door invite with some local farmers, so I'd like to go sometime and see what it'll do.

I bought a .50 Beowulf a few years ago and like you had an invitation to shoot some hogs. But I have never gotten around to doing any more than taking it out and discovering that skinny AR-15 buttstock concentrates the recoil on a small enough portion of my shoulder to make it uncomfortable to shoot and leave bruises. Way too cool not to buy one, though; and a heck of a lot easier to carry than a .50BMG.

I purposely built mine with a heavy stock - it's definitely not light... The UBR stock is hefty. I almost got the .70" add-on rubber butt pad for the stock - but after shooting with the foregrip, decided that a little forward pressure to keep the muzzle down seems to help with recoil. Shooting it from the bench to sight it in was a different story...

I've always like the look of grey/black combo. Shooting .50 has to be rough...but plenty loud. Hahaha

It's plenty loud, but nothing like the .338 with a brake... :sniper:

Recoil is actually not too bad... it's about like a stiff 20 ga slug gun... for the first few rounds.

I love the Beo Upper, I shot one once, two mags. Seriously if you could suppress one of these, it'd wreck some zombies.
