George Zimmerman is back in the NEWS but it appears he was shot at rather than being the shooter. Sounds like someone is gunnin' for him - literally.

Zimmerman can't keep his mouth shut. Doesn't know how to avoid trouble.

True. And exacerbated by the fact that the media (and a bunch of people) have made a target of him. It would suck to be him even without his faults...

I would so cut my losses and find a nice double wide in the woods and a kindle with 30 books on it. I would take up the hobby of gardening and precious few would see or know my real name. I might just find time to write a book. I'd spend nights around a campfire.

I really feel for Zimmerman. He shouldn't be known outside of Florida; and I doubt that he wants to be.

He's a human with faults, just like the rest of us.

My speculation is that, in this latest case, some guy has a vendetta against Zimmerman, Zimmerman is an easy target, so Zimmerman gets provoked and then shot at.

Zimmerman should move to Utah. I doubt that he has enemies, there. He could blend in, easily, as Jorge the maintenance guy.

It turned out Zimmerman was not in an "altercation." The guy that shot at him is known to police for being mentally unstable and obsessed with Zimmerman. From the info released by the police, it's pretty clear Zimmerman tried to get away and this guy is just batshit.

Okay, maybe I was partly incorrect. He should take MBC's advice and disappear.

Bet he wishes he could disappear! As it is, he couldn't rip one in church without it becoming national news.

I haven't been following this very closely.
Does Florida license handguns?
Why did the reporting news story say that the shooter possessed two licensed firearms?
Why is the blogger asking that question?

Does Florida license handguns? <-- Nope
Why did the reporting news story say that the shooter possessed two licensed firearms? <-- No idea. They're dumb?
Why is the blogger asking that question? <-- Which question?

My error! The article that the blogger quoted states:
The police spokeswoman indicated that Apperson had licenses for both guns, a fact which seems odd given Apperson’s prior arrests and sometimes convictions on charges ranging from drug possession to reckless driving to DUI to violation of probation.
No question was asked (except mine) about this.

Are any of those charges felonies that prevent ownership of a firearm?

Monkey - here is some regulations for Florida that may prevent ownership but without knowing the specific violations Apperson made it is difficult to determine. What struck me fully was he seemed Celebratory about shooting Zimmerman.
