As long as we're asking automotive questions

My entire exhaust system, on my van, is shot. I have a hole in the muffler thats about as big as the muffler itself.

So, I figure, as long as I have to replace the whole thing, I may as well replace the system with duals. And, if I'm doing that, I may as well have dual FlowMasters. W2B doesn't see the logic in that thought progression, but I just had the A/C fixed for her, so she's not complaining about it, anymore, lol.

So, question is, who in the Richmond area does inexpensive and reliable work of that nature? I don't necessarily need it done fast. I rarely use my personal vehicles.

Hmmm. I don't know anyone in Richmond, but I have 3 guys in Woodbridge and Manassas that I trust and do very good custom work. If you are willing to bring it up here, I will introduce you to one of them.

What brand/model van is it?

It's a Chevy G20 conversion van; 350 engine.

I appreciate the offer, Marc, but I think that driving up to Woodbridge will conflict with the other things that I need to do, when I come home again. If I was planning on going to my parents house for a couple of days, it would actually be pretty convenient. But, everything that I need to do requires me to be going the opposite direction. Thank you, though.

I'll reach out to some people I know in the Richmond area and see if they can recommend a good exhaust shop.

Are we talking about a minivan or a full-size shaggin' wagon?

Full size shaggin' wagon :) I wouldn't know what to do with a mini-van, these days. The full size van feels like a golf cart, after spending 6 weeks in a truck. Last time I was home, I drove the Caddy, while the van was having the A/C fixed. That was just weird. Felt like I was sitting on the road!

I would want a pimpped out 650 my my personal vehicle. Shoot, I don't even drive tractors for a living and I'd still love to rock a 650. I just can't afford one.

A couple weeks ago I saw a brand new set of "Side Pipes " on Craigslist . I would have jumped all over them if I had something COOL to put them on !

@Marc: I assume that you mean the Ford F650, and not the Ford 650 farm tractor, or the John Deere 650 farm tractor?

@ORS: I wish my shaggin wagon was as awesome as that!

@Snakester: I would have been all over some sidepipes, myself, but my van has running boards. As cool as sidepipes are, I would rather keep the boards. I intend to put some chicken lights on the running boards.

.
Is that your actual van? That is pretty sweet.

Yep... Ford F650. Awesome truck. Who wouldn't want to rock this bad boy?

No, I wish that was my actual van, lol. I have always loved the 70's era custom vans.

The F650 is a beast, but not really my style. I'm more into the classics.

W2B and I frequently talk about getting a classic Peterbuilt to drive when we're home; we figure that it won't feel so weird. Just remove the 5th wheel, and add a flat bed. Good to go.

With that Ford F650? I would have a stick in a mirror image that says "SCREW YOUR PRIUS! MOVE OVER!" and put it on the BUMPER!

OOOOOHHHH!!!! Even BETTER!!! Go to the junk yard, find the bumper/toyota symbol for a Prius, paint a MOUTH on the F650, and put PART of that hanging out!

heh-heh....

I saw an old 4x4 pickup, once; lift kit, massive tires; had a big decal in the back window that said "Prius Eater ".
