I love it! Many will disagree, but I think he is the guy to save this country. I would absolutely vote for him over Ben Carson.

I think he is the next Reagan.

Meh. I think he deflects a lot of questions during interviews, but he is a pretty good speaker. After a 1st term senator getting elected to the WH I think a lot of people are going to be weary about doing that again so soon.

I don't think there's going to be any politician that can "save the country". That responsibility belongs to you and me.

The next Reagan as in the 1964 "A Time for Choosing" Reagan, or the 1980s Reagan?

So the question now is, who could be the 1980's Reagan? Scott Walker or Ted Cruz?

And, is it even possible that the GOP would nominate either one of them?

Nah, the sad part is the number of people that will hold their nose, march to the polls, and pull the lever for him anyway because "THIS ELECTION IS TOO IMPORTANT!!"

Bush. McCain. Romney. Bush. Each pull of the lever tells the national GOP "I want more candidates like this please."

Then they'll wonder why they keep getting more candidates like that.

The problem is that conservatives are so particular about each issue while progressives vote as a bloc, knowing that they will get something out of it and once gotten it is seldom repealed.

And that is why I think we need an ultra Conservative candidate. No one is perfect... but there are more than a few that will be a massive improvement over what we have in the White house now... and a significant improvement over another GOP candidate (aka Democrat Lite).

Hawks. Don't touch a dime of that military spending. In fact, if you're cutting the increase in spending (only a 4% raise instead of a 7% raise in spending), you're gutting it and you don't care about our troops. We need to be able to fight two wars at a time, even during peace time.

People throw the word "isolationist" around, but I can't think of a single isolationist in the GOP. For anyone who instantly thinks of Rand Paul, know that there is a difference between "isolationist" and "non-intervention".

If the media reports it as being isolationist, waddaya wanna bet that will be the reason a large bloc won't vote for him. Or, if can be made to be seen as weak on terror a large bloc will be lost.

Call it what you want... we're not the World Police. Unless there is a direct threat to the US or if an ally asks for assistance to maintain peace and liberty of their free nation, we really should stay out of it. But for Christ's sake, if you're gonna get in it finish the damn job.

I have never served, but I can't imagine anyone who has is very happy with all the lives lost, decades away from home and the billions spent while fighting in the middle-east, just for us to pull out prematurely and give birth to an enemy exponentially worse than the situation we started with. All those lives lost for nothing... worse then nothing... to make a bigger monster.

We need a leader who can tell when the deed needs to be done and when its truly over. I don't know if an ultra Conservative will fit that bill, but I know they won't do any worse than Barry or any other Libtard who will take office.

I'm glad to see Cruz - and soon - Walker - being an option.

If nothing else comes of this other than seeing the progressives get their panties twisted.... Well worth it I say - Bravo, Ted Cruz, Bravo!

Two elections won by a guy who couldn't build a shoe box. I can understand the first win due to the historical issues, but not the second time. If the republicans cannot beat a weak man like Obama, I just don't see a any conservative president any time soon, because the republicans continue to allow themselves to be backed down on the social issues.

While the reality will be:

* Pandering to race is racist.
* War on Women is misogynist.
