I have a new 22-250; I am not that familiar with the cartridge ballistics. If you are shooting out to 600 yards -
20 MOA base or 0 MOA base?

put in your load, figure the drop at the distances you want to work, if your scope doesn't have enough elevation, you need a base. my guess is you're ok with a 0.

ASSumed a 50gr berger match varmint at 4000 FPS.

100 yd zero, 600 is down 11 MOA.. most decent scopes should have 40-50 moa of range, so 20-25 up/down. No need for a canted base.

However I did note that at 600 you are approaching the magic 1.1 mach trans sonic range, so beware that some bullets get strange flight behavior when you get below 1.1 mach.

Depending on the target there may be better bullet choices if you handload.

All other thing being equal, I don't see any reason not to get a 20 MOA base. It keeps your reticle more centered, where the glass in your optic is better, and it gives you more distance to dial for drops. There aren't any real downsides.
