Mencken wrote the editorial below while working for the Baltimore Evening Sun, which appeared in the July 26,1920 edition.

So it was written, and so it has come to pass...

That was a gimme. That statement would be true in any country, eventually.

Though, it does seem oddly appropriate for the times in America.

Found a flaw. Obama is no fool. He's brilliant and accomplishing everything he set out to do. The people of the country are the fools for electing his... Twice.

He is a narcissistic leader though.

Couldn't agree more. I remember back in 2006, telling my wife that he was gonna be the next president. She didn't believe me. Even though he had no qualifications to speak of, no resume to present, I felt like it didn't matter. He had the dialect... the sales pitch. He woo'ed the sheeple (the majority of voters), with his silver tongue.

My prophetic ways came to an end in 2012. I thought for sure that Mitt would win. I just couldn't believe that anyone in their right mind could re-elect O. I suppose I WAS right in a sense. The conservatives, republicans, & even independents out there, grossly underestimated the DNC machine & their ability to sell votes. The DNC has the odds stacked in their favor with overwhelming majority in the media, higher learning bias/indoctrination, & better tactics resonating with young people.

Anymore, I don't see huge differences between the Donkeys, & Elephants. They both over spend, over regulate, & pry way to much into everyday lives. They will unite in a heartbeat to stomp out any free thinker, or independent voice of reason. I get more cynical the older I get but, it's just so obvious imo.

I have very little hope left for a country closer resembling my views or ideology. I hope they(pols) keep it toned down for awhile. Not looking forward to non-stop infomercials, & ads spewing more bs campaign promises, & pretending to gaf about the rest of us.

but yeah..... Obama's no fool. Regardless of how his record is interpreted by history...... he'll always be an all-star in the DNC's hall of fame for doing exactly what he set out to do.

I had the same thought, Marc. One could argue, though, that a foolish plan, no matter how brilliantly executed, is still foolish.

Let's face the facts... We're in a minority.

We're not gullible morons who believe the guv'mint is the answer to our problems, we don't fall for the belief that working hard should be punished, we don't want the guv'mint to "protect us" in that it has to CONTROL us to do it.

We're in the minority.

The rest of America is lost to communists, immigrants with no history of the country, and flat out knee-jerk morons.

I live in an occupied state of amazement.
