The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it.

This is a long read of at least an hour, but IMO, well worth it. It is densely packed and I learned more about ISIS reading this than everything I have heard/read to date.

These guys are a bigger problem than the 24/7 news cycle makes them out to be, but that may be an artifact of the news cycle itself.

Something else that should be considered is that Obama may be unwittingly doing the right thing by keeping us out of a ground offensive. If the author of this piece is correct, and the US will suffice as the army of Rome, then it would, in fact, be a massive propaganda win for ISIS if we sent tens of thousands of US troops to the region.

And according to the DHS and President, right wing gun owners are this biggest danger to this country.

What should scare people is that the Iranian leadership also believe in the apocalypse prophecy and they are sending around 100,000 members of its militia groups over the border of Iraq to fight. A regional war is looking more and more likely.
