dominion arms is actually a gun dealer that'll also do your taxes. yes, that's right, they do tax prep, under the same roof. walk in and go to the left, you've got guns, lots of milsurp, go to the right and you've got tax service, probably car title loans and that stuff too. kind of a strange place. not a lot of guns, but that's typical of a small gun shop. they had lots of military surplus firearms as well as gear such as clothing, ammo cans, and stuff like that. the whole place just kind of gave off a weird vibe to me. i don't know if they do in-house gunsmithing or what, but they had a cluttered workbench table covered in tools last time i was there.

Ditto on the strange vibes.
I went in there one time and noticed they had a lot of MILSURP. Did not buy anything though.
It may be perfectly fine, but I commented to my wife that the place seemed a touch off.

Dominion Arms is the best! You walk in and there are a bunch of guys in there just talking guns. Smoking cigarettes and shooting the bull. I've been in there many times and the regulars are always there and always ready to help. This place reminds me of an old school gun shop. I don't neccessarily like the smoke, but it almost adds to the ambiance. The owner knows more about guns of all kinds than I will ever know in a million years. He is seriously helpful, not just BS, either. They don't have a huge selection, but do FFLs and have decent prices on the guns they do have.
Just an example of how helpful they are: Went in there one day and this kid had an old shotgun (not even sure what kind) about halfway disassembled on the counter. The owner was helping him troubleshoot some problem and offered up his workbench and tools without a thought. The kid went behind the counter with his disassembled shotgun and worked on his gun while the owner helped another customer. It was just a really cool think to witness in this day and age.
Don't let the vibe put you off to this place. It is truly a gem and should be experienced!!

Two years ago I watched the guy in the glasses (i think the owner?) sell a police trade on glock to a guy for 650. It was a well worn G19 and the guy thought he was getitng a deal.

They have always been helpful to me when I go in there. Many folks seem to go in there to shoot the bull.

New here, but I'll get right into it...
Dominion Arms is a weird shop; a buddy of mine referred me to them, he's been going there for the better part of ten years. I've been up there a few times over the last couple years.
Their prices are all over the place...
Milsurp some good deals, some bad deals, I got a butt stock which normally sells for $50 on gunbroker for $27.
Curio & Relic stuff, on the floor rack, is way over priced, like $100 more than the distributor (SOG, Centerfire, etc)
Used guns, on the wall, seem to be fairly priced around Blue Book, though sometimes you can find a really good deal.
New guns are around fair market price.
Now, that being said, if you hang out and chat with the owners for an hour or so, suddenly, none of the marked prices matter, they offered me a fair discount on some new stuff. I went up there last Monday, they're normally closed on Mondays, one of the owners had to do some work in the shop, so he opened for a few hours. I got up there at around 4:30 and left at like 7:00.
They don't do any in-store gun smithing, though they have another shop who they send everything through, they don't charge you anything on top of what the smith charges.

On route 28 across from the tractor supply place, right up from the big red auction barn. The store would be on the right if you're going down 28 from Manassas.

Recently purchased a pistol from them. Great service and reasonable prices. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

+1
I like the place, and they seem friendly. I've done several FFL transfers through them, and I've bought from them as well at prices less than I could find on-line or at the Chantilly gun show. Every time I've been in there, it's been fairly crowded with what appeared to be regulars. They're willing to negotiate on some things too. Only drawback for me is that the cigarette smoke can get pretty thick.
