glock19, hk vp9, sig p320

I was going to get a glock 19 but then started to look at the hk vp9 and sig p320. I will be traveling around so that I can hold each one, but there is no ranage close to me that will allow me to rent all three. Does anyone have at least two of these firearms? I am most interested in a comparison of the triggers. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

A new contender has entered: the walther ppq m2. Held the glock 19, sig p320, and walter side by side today. The p320 is really clunky. The walther has a dream trigger. The glock would certainly fit the bill, but the walther is just too good. I still need to hold the VP9. Does anyone have any insight into the VP9. The PPQ M2 and VP9 are very similar in appearance.

This from some forum mall-ninja with .001 db calibrated ears, or from someone with a sound meter doing testing with scientific rigor? Always consider the reliability of the source when looking at information.

I'd put my money on the VP9, only because I've got some data about lots of rounds in a very similarly designed pistol. The VP9 is P30 derived, and Todd Green ran a p30 out to +/- 90,000 rounds and barely cleaned it had 10 stoppages. So there is some reasonable evidence that it will run when dirty.

Unless you plan to run some similar torture test, I suspect any of your possibles list will run fine for a few hundred rounds at the range.

If it was an open pick anything choice, I would, and did pick the USP9SD. Comes with a recoil spring selected for suppressed use, and sights tall enough to clear most cans. Also a LH threaded barrel to reduce the shoot-loose problem on RH threaded guns. Now depending on hand size you may not like the fit of the USP series, but I find they fit me well.

Have you fired all of them? I find the H&K feels better in my hand - but that Walther may be better. The Sig Sauer isn't bad, and it's a dream to shoot, but I find the sight picture odd for me.

I haven't handled the Walther, but I have handled the P320 Glock and the VP9.

I hate the SIG P320 carry version. I like the full size version.

The Glock didn't impress me at all. It was a rental, but still.

I love the fit an finsh of the VP9 as well as the feel while firing. Its the next on me list.

Zero experience with suppressed pistols. Sorry.

I appreciate the responses. The information on forums seems very consistent amongst many posts with no post stating that such a problem does not exist or has been fixed. I am not concerned about decibels as much as reliability. I am not dropping $700 on a firearm and $1000 on a suppressor only to have it malfunction.

I wish that I could shoot them all. I cannot even find a VP9 to handle in a local gun shop. The closest range that rents is an hour away and only has the glock.

I guess I really just need to talk to walther. Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I spoke with walther today and they are still having problems suppressing the PPQ. I do not think that the VP9 comes with an hk threaded barrel plus it is a very new gun and therefore untested. The sig felt bad in my hands. The glock would be fine but I am more juiced about the PPQ or HK. I guess I'll just have to wait this one out and shoot what I have. What a concept!

I had my first "hands-on" with the P320, trigger was very crisp and reset VERY short!!! Was impressed. Like to try the HK VP9, range I was at didn't have one in stock. Maybe in a week or so I was told.

Sounds like you fired the Elite, which has an awesome SRT.

I have been looking lately too. I already have the SIG P226, which I love. I got a little trigger time with a G17 and the VP9 this week. I ended up buying the Glock instead. Lower bore axis, lighter, and the trigger was cleaner too. The VP9 had a little choppiness to it, which I didn't like.

I may still buy one in a few months, but as it stands right now, I'm happy with the Glock.

Also... don't know if its in the budget, but FNH started making the Five Seven Mark 2, which looks and feels so close to the USG... but is better. If it wasn't for the fact that its $1200, I would have gotten that instead. Its like shooting a high power rifle cartridge from a pistol. kick in the extremely high penetration rate and you can load 20+1 and you have a pretty darn cool pistol.

Unless US Special Operations Command has it wrong with the 19, I'd say it's a safe bet.
