this place is a real ace hardware store that sells guns. they only have a couple aisles of hardware, they're mostly a gun shop. located on lakeside drive in lynchburg. neat place, lots of used guns, fair prices. they have reloading equipment, but the time i was there, they didn't have much of a selection of primers. good ol' boys in that place.

i was surprised to see the new baby eagle pistol there. when i opened the door, i thought all i would see was grandpappy's old shotgun.

anyone else been there?

I have never been in the store. I know where it's located but didn't think they would have much. I thought it was mostly hardware so I never stopped.

Do they have a good supply of ammo?

Is that the one in the Boonsboro shopping center on the west side of town?

its in a freestanding building. not a huge parking lot in front of the place. i wasn't ammo shopping when i was last there, i didn't even look to be honest with you. i was at the walmart in lynchburg on saturday the 28th and all they had for handgun ammo was 40 cal in bulk boxes, that's it. i bet this ace hardware has more than that!

I will stop in to look around next time I'm in Lynchburg it sounds good.

I was in the wal mart in Altavista, last week and they were in short supply too, I bought the last two boxes of 9mm that they had. There were no 45's at all and the woman behind the counter said that they haven't had any for three weeks. The shelves were bare.

Man!I love that place!I used to live in Amherst and discovered the "Ace" when my son was in Lynchburg College.Great selection of odd stuff and mil.surp.The 'smith at the time repaired my Steven's Favorite to aged perfection!Real nice folks...I'm thinkin' of ridin' the Harley up from the Rich.area one day just to visit 'em.(I always feel odd riding home with a rifle or shotgun strapped on my back)

Thanks for the post! I grew up in OH and never went to an Ace Hardware that sold guns and accessories. This is great news, and I plan to stop there in the nearby future. VA is awesome!

They are fair, I sold three guns there and go what I wanted. They're on Lakeside Drive.

Yeah, they typically have a good assortment of firearms as well as ammo. I've bought quite a few toys from them and will not hesitate to go back. But they are not the only show in town either.

Good shop they have some interesting firearms and lots of ammo.

The ace part is just a front.
