Sheldon Silver, the speaker of the New York Assembly, exploited his position as one of the most powerful politicians in the state to obtain millions of dollars in bribes and kickbacks, federal authorities said on Thursday as they announced his arrest on a sweeping series of corruption charges.

How on earth did this happen during Eric Holder's watch? Does this mean the shut down of the corruption commission by NY governor Cuomo, may end up killing any presidential aspirations he had, at least for the near future? Did this just help Hillary's chances at a cake walk to the Democratic nomination?

I thought you were going to say his wife's activities made him look like an amateur.

She's not totally to blame. He knew she wasn't toeing the line and just looked the other way. So he's guilty of not stopping it up front or making her move out on her own while they decided whether her needs fit into their lifestyle.
