Sorry for the title but I need to get your attention, and you all need to "be aware" of what coming.

All the new proposed laws for GUN CONTROL

I won't get carried away, I'll post the links to what you need to know.

AND...... Lobby Day in Monday Jan 19th (MLK Day)
Its the one day we GUN RIGHTS people need to lobby our law makers for gun rights, because the anti-gun folks will be there lobbying for GUN CONTROL.

We need to outnumber them or they will have their way.

Please lets not assume our rights will always be there for us, we need to take the steps necessary to protect them.

Come to Lobby Day Monday and join the fight....we need your help!!

Good post! I'm so tired of these people who think that they know better for all of us. If you don't want to own a gun, then don't buy one. Otherwise, leave me alone! Simple as that!

I can;t personally make it to Lobby Day, but I hope we have a huge turn-out!

Ummm... Are they so ignorant as to know that MLK Jr owned guns?

Most people think King would be the last person to own a gun. Yet in the mid-1950s, as the civil rights movement heated up, King kept firearms for self-protection. In fact, he even applied for a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

A recipient of constant death threats, King had armed supporters take turns guarding his home and family. He had good reason to fear that the Klan in Alabama was targeting him for assassination.

He gave up ownership when he realized that the establishment would never give him a concealed carry permit.

What does, "food the building" mean..? Lunch being served..??

It was a great lobby day. I didn't stick around to see the anti's in action. We wrapped up around 1pm.

Would have liked to see more from my area as well as in general. For as many who own guns in VA, we represented approximately .0002 percent of the owners. Still, the general assembly building was packed with blaze orange "Guns save lives" stickers and the CHP line was wrapped around the building.

The rally was excellent as well as the weather.

The pro-gun crowd was so-so. Of all the gun owners here in Virginia I thought more would show up.

The antis had a very good turnout.

You know, the turnout was VERY weak on the PRO-GUN side.

I was there. Visited all my representation, had an emergency call, and had to leave about 11-ish...

I wish I could have stuck around, but we cannot have everything.

Most of us have jobs so we can buy groceries and guns and pay taxes. I'd say that's much less true for the antis.

Touche Dorm... but there were quite a few people who didn't show because they knew the G/A was decidedly PRO-GUN, forgetting we have an Anti-Governor!

Well, lump me into the "had to work" category, not the "not worth my time" category!

Same here. The way to repair the poor turnout is to send a letter - a mailed letter on paper, to your Delegate and your Senator, and the heads of the relevant committees, outlining your position on the various bills.

An avalanche of hundreds or thousands of letters would be highly effective.
