He racked the slide back and did not eject the round? How the hell does that happen?

1. The clerk should be fired for not checking the weapon.
2. The idiot who put the gun back in the case loaded should be fired for not checking the weapon.
3. The cop should be reprimanded for not asking the clerk to show him a "safe" weapon, slide back and locked. Although the loss of the end of his finger might be reprimand enough.

Imagine that. Two dumbazzes in the same place at the same time. Kind of like a small convention of Democrats.

Round in the magazine but not in the chamber. Cocks it but doesn't look for any obstruction. Round goes up the pipe, ready to rock like it's supposed to. This is why I look inside the chamber and breech, as well as cock more than once.

Hard to tell for sure, but it looks kinda like the clerk handed the cop the gun grip first while holding the muzzle in his hand and maybe directed towards his body. And the cop kept putting his hands and fingers out in front of the muzzle and sweeping those guys down the counter with the muzzle, too. In fact, he was lucky he didn't shoot one of those guys. Looks like they both fer sure ain't got no business handling shootin' arns.

GFs family got a painful reminder of that rule, last month.

GF lost her cousin to an apparent negligent discharge, the day we got home for Christmas.

"The gun is always loaded"; my father drilled that concept deep into my brain, years ago. Such a simple concept. There really is no excuse for this sort of thing.

And these are the people that are "trusted" to have a gun in places where I'm not allowed to?

Sleep well tonight, 'Murica. We might as well give loaded guns to chimps.

This was, I suppose, entirely predictable. The cop has already sued the gun store.
