Jack frost can kiss my rosey red rump.

Been down to -2. Zero right now with light snow on the ground. High of 24 today. Colder than a banker's heart. I woke up this morning at a quarter till 4 because the power went off and my Bi-PAP mask quit blowing. Not a pleasant experience to wake up with your air intake having been suddenly curtailed in your sleep. Power came back on about 5:30; by which time I had eaten cold cereal, taken a lukewarm shower with what was left of the hot water, and come to the office. SWMBO said the house got down to 55 degrees before the power came back on. It was a close call. She was getting ready to go find someplace to shop where it was warm. That could have gotten ugly. This is shaping up to be the kind of a winter day that just sucks.

She must have been drawing something fierce.

Dorm, that whole rant was a righteous riot! I needed that! Thanks brotha.

As to "Colder than a banker's heart." I can speak on that one... he ain't kidding.

Banker's hearts only love a bottom line.

Was I ranting? Well, maybe. Nothing like a rude awakening, cold cheerios, no coffee and a lukewarm shower to give a body a serious case of the redass. Now I think of it, I 'spect I'm probably ill enough this mornin' till I could scare a haint up a thorn tree just by looking at him nasty. Cain't help it. Like I said, this day started out sucking and went to hell from there.

You boys are hilarious! I think us homeschoolers will stay inside, eat chili all day, and perhaps fold some laundry.

Lol! You boys are so silly. I soaked the beans a good long time......minimal gastrointestinal distress.

No ma'am, I ain't being silly about that; I'm serious as a heart attack. A feller should always be serious about explosives.

My pore old Aunt Zella used to soak beans with baking soda in the water. Claimed it "drew" the gas out of them. Couldn't have proved it by me, though. She's the old dear that used to call pinto beans "musical fruit", bless her heart.

It was 15 degrees when I was driving through NM, last night. But, in Phoenix AZ, earlier, it was in the 70's.

My brother said that he saw -20's, last night,in Massachusetts.

All that needs it a little bit of mixed pickle or hot chow-chow and a glass of buttermilk. Little fried jaw-meat wouldn't hurt none.

Dang water line froze last night. Had that sucker on drip, but I guess it wasn't dripping enough for last night's extreme cold. Looks like I won't have water until tomorrow afternoon when it gets above freezing. Oh well.

The heat pump/emergency backup died at the station I work at last night and it was ~40 degrees in the building. Who keeps a full set of winter gear on the truck, including a heavy sleeping bag...This guy :tinfoil:

You guys really have no room to complain.
I'm a moderator on an extremely large forum with people and moderators world wide.
Some of the moderators have NEVER in their (admittedly short compared to me) lives and at least one just today said that at their location in Estonia the high temperature was -28 °C ( 0 °F) and she said it'll get much colder.
The moderator in Kuching, Malaysia can't even conceive of the winter problems of the moderators in Quebec City, Canada and Sweden.
