Stay away from Dicks sporting goods.

In case you all were wondering why Dick's Sporting Goods always has ammunition in stock, here's your answer.

Friday I picked up a 100rnds of Winchester White Box 9mm luger. I immediately noticed the box was worn and crumpled. I got home, didn't think much of it and stuck it in my drawer.

Today I open up the box, examined the ammunition and found the casings have black markings around them, and the actual rounds have small indentations around the top. Dick's is selling reloaded ammunition.

I called a manager and when I told him about it... he got all quiet, explained they don't take returns on ammo and then put me on hold. I'm taking it back tomorrow for a refund as per the manager I spoke with. He obviously was caught red handed so tried to quiet me down.

Use Dick's ammo at your own discretion.

It's a shitty low res camera so I can't show you the rounds all that well. The ammo scattered throughout the box is how I received the ammunition. I was temped to open it as I was walking out but I decided to get home first.

I'll attempt to take a picture of the actual round with my laptop's webcam.

This is the best I can do. If you look closely you can see discoloration around the bullet itself.

Looking closely at the casing I can make out fingerprints as well...... I wonder if this is why some reviews of the ammo I read said every 5th round out of 50 was a FTF...

Are all the rounds at least stamped Winchester on the bottom?

Dude... for future pics... this is not a clothing optional site. Thank you for your cooperation.

Also... regardless of if it's reloaded, which its not obvious in the picture that it is (sorry, can't see well), unless they sold you a box of re-manufactured ammo and said it was new, I'm not sure where the problem is. The busted up box is never fun, but obviously not a deal-breaker.

I have pants on lol. Like I said just keep an eye out. It says WIN 9mm Luger. Fingerprints and indentations from where a press was used on the round. 1600x900 is the best I can do with this camera. It was sold as new, 24.99. Anywhere from 2-5 dollars cheaper than Walmart or bulkammo.

I'm hoping this is just the local store, I remember buying 30-06 from this store and being given an pristine box and new ammo.

I guess, even with a good camera, it might be hard to get a good view of it unless we are holding it. I'd be upset if it was label new and was remand or poor quality new. Hopefully this is not the norm.

Was it the store in Hoodbridge?

No, Williamsburg Va. This is the first time this store has had anything other than 9mm hollowpoints in stock in the 2 years I've been going there. It's possible I was just showing up a few days after shipments arrived.

Huh... The store up my way has a really limited selection of everything but shotgun ammo. I don't own a shotgun, so I rarely get ammo from them. I'll pay close attention next time I do though.

Looks like the reason they were so eager to return the ammo is because it's against ATF regulations to sell reloaded ammunition unless they have a manufacturer license.

Sucks for me because I chose to have a receipt emailed to me.... trying to find it now.

Seems like an employee took the good ammo home and put his bunk back in the box. Probably just a one off. And please. A shirt would do well!

Considering that it seems as if the half of the country is telling the other half how to live I find this display to be quite tasteful. Everyone telling how free we are whilst trying to control everyone within their picture perfect paradigm. Aye, I wish to live as careless and free as the gentleman right here some day. If Feinstein doesn't have to wear a bag on her head then let this man's shoulders be free.

I'm sorry... have we met? My name is Marc Spaz... you are???

While I do agree with you in spirit and don't personally object, I believe as a society, we should set some standards of behavior that appeal to the many and apply to all or the "Show Off Your Hardware" forum is going to take on new meaning as it gets uncomfortable for some members of the community.

Example... I am of Italian decent, 6' 2", 400 lb man covered in hair and scars that make me look like Buddha and Sasquatch had an ugly adult baby that survived a direct claymore hit and a house fire. If I did the same bust shot, children would cry, women would go blind and men would have decades of laughter at my expense.

See where I am going with this?

I think I can take hilarityensues in the whiteness of the shoulders... I could enter my lower back just above the cracks if my ass in a sasquatch themed thread but I don't think I would win.
