Anything New on eForm 4?

Has anyone heard anything new about the release of eForm 4? Last I heard, the ATF was trying to get it ready for SHOT Show 2015, but likely will be the end of Q2, 2015.

If anyone (business owner/employee) has any official correspondence from BATFE that says something, I would love to know about it. I have some purchases in the queue. I would love to wait to submit eForms, but don't want to wait 6 months to submit when the paper forms are taking 4 months.

Thanks,
Spaz

ATF updated their website with regard to the status of eForms 3 and 4.
We expect Forms 3 and 4 to return to eForms very soon, as the enhancements are completed.
This is new since I last logged in a couple weeks ago. They said they wanted the eForms 3 and 4 ready for SHOT Show, which starts on Jan 20th. I've been holding off on purchases... so my hopes are high!

Thanks for the update. Sadly with 41P likely going into effect shortly thereafter it doesn't leave much time for some of us to make use of the new enhanced system. :-x

I'm optimistic. ATF is not making any announcements about 41p until May. Over 9,500 comments were submitted about this rule change and almost all of them were in opposition. I have read the opposition was as high as 99%.

If ATF still does it... then they are not exercising the will of the people, but the orders of a dictator. I can see some people challenging the rule in court almost immediately. Especially since it does absolutely nothing whatsoever to prevent crime.

Plus, why go through the effort over half a year or more to make the forms available on eForm if they will only be valid for 4 to 6 months? That's dumb, even for the government. An you know they are not going to accepts finger prints, a mug shot and a CLEO signature via an attachment.

Eh, the same was true when the NFA was passed in '34. None of it ever did anything to prevent crime. And here we are 80 years later, with more restrictions than we started with, and the ATF making up the rules as it goes along with their "interpretation" letters.

Heh, maybe that's exactly the "enhancement" they're talking about.

In any case, I'll hope for the best while preparing for the worst. My stamp needs will be taken care of my May - any bureaucratic miracles with regards to 41P will be gravy. :)

Probably won't see anything before the end of this year.

I agree with Chris above. Was at my class 3 dealer yesterday and he said that same thing. From what he has heard, probably nothing until the of the year.......but you never know!
