MD Non-Resident Permit

For those of us in the Northern Neck, it's a bummer, yet sometimes unavoidable to go into Maryland.
I've lived here for 20 years, and up to this point, have always had to store my firearm prior to crossing the border to the depths of torment and captivity.

I'm hopeful at this point... today was the first time I had something I consider substantial to have MD consider my application for carry. So, paperwork is in, I'm fingerprinted, and we will see where it goes.

Sticker shock was definitely part of the game. $15 for passport photos (though you can use your computer), $49.50 for livescan finger-printing (but there was a cute girl doing it +PLUS), and $75 application fee for two years.

Will keep you posted. Those who pray, please pray for me; otherwise, I ask for well wishes. I'm trying not to keep my hopes up, but I also think there is a fighting chance with the justification I provided.

Good luck.

This reminds me of the time I spotted the Loch Ness monster in the East Potomac. No one believed me, of course, but I knew it was real.

Good luck! If you are issued one many people on our illustrious board, myself included, will probably need to sit down and recover from mild shock.

Be well!

Got a call from MSP trooper who was running my paperwork. Said everything looked good... Interesting point; he said that after reviewing everything, if it were up to him, I'd have my permit today. He then said that once I get my decision paper, if it's a denial to be sure and request an appeal trial. At that point, it will be put in the hands of eight for a decision vice one.

If you have success, I can think of a few people (including yours truly) that would love a PM with the secret to your success.

Good luck.

Even if I made trips to MD, I'm not in any of those high-risk categories. So I'll just continue to stay away from areas where I can't protect myself.
