Vote - but don't waste it! Dems love split Conservatives!

A vote for a Libertarian is a vote for the Democrat Socialist machine that wants to continue driving our country into the ground. This is mostly true for national level offices. Vote Libertarian in local races if you must (especially if there is no "R" on the ballot!)

Please do not waste your vote on principle. The Dems love to see the conservative vote split between Libertarians and Republicans. I know that the R's may not be much better than the D's, but they are definitely the lesser of 2 evils, especially in the area of Gun Owner Rights.

Please vote "R" tomorrow in all national level positions!

This concludes today's VGOF Public service Announcement.

I vote for people (not against people), and certainly not parties.

Went straight L this year. This is a free market, and R must do better for my business.

Sorry, but I don't agree with this, and I'm tired of being blamed for republican losses if I choose to vote for the person that I believe best reflects my views.

That's right - don't waste that vote! Establishment Ed isn't going to win and your vote for him won't change that. A vote for Sarvis however can help get him over 10% and change the nature of Virginia politics.

You have to wake up each day and look at yourself in the mirror. We all have to live with ourselves. Vote for whomever you feel you must.

I won't vote for Sarvis. I see him as a progressive in a libertarians cloak. Your opinion may differ. If the libertarians want my vote they have to do better than Sarvis. He violates a few of my non negotiables.

I voted straight republican. My dislike of Gillespie is less than my dislike of Warner and Sarvis.

As a side note we still have paper ballots in chesterfield I like that.

Well there you have it the age old argument. I voted for Ed because for one I can't stand Sarvis and I dislike Warner even more and with no other candidate I voted for the one that I could agree with on part of their platform. To me Sarvis is nothing but a snake in the grass trying very hard to be the savior of Virginia that he will never be. As I see it he takes votes away from both of the mainstream parties but will never be a contender. Say what you want but that is how I feel about it, so like it or not it really don't matter much to me. I voted and did my civic duty and if you voted then I applaud you as well. I guess I am just tired of hearing the same tired out argument on how we should vote for Sarvis and don't worry about the results and look where that has got us. When Sarvis loses here and Lose he will you can bet that he will try again in the next election: heck I wouldn't put it past him to run for President (Not that he would have a snowballs chance in hell).

Hey but what do I know
Just my .02 worth

I'd rather see the lesser of two evils elected than to not vote and see the liberals elect the greater of two evils. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Voted early this morning - also by paper ballot. Been too busy to even look at this forum until an hour or so ago.

Pretty much. I enthusiastically gave a bit of $ and my vote to the R ticket last year because I felt good about them (i.e. I was voting for them, not against anyone) being great for the offices they were running. So this time I gave a bit of $ and my vote to the Libertarians because that's how I felt out of all available choices.

At the end of the day do whatever lets you sleep soundest.

Hope you "feel" just spiffy about giving away your adopted state to the liberals just like the one you came from.

Dingy Harry is evil.

Voting to keep him in office is evil

I think my vote will matter more this time then any other election I have voted in (still a young'in). The rural district I am in has ~3,000 and when I voted less then 7% had turned out with only ~2.5hrs left.

insanity is...
1) VA is already a blue state on statewide elections and was before I moved here; nothing is "given away".

2) Pick a GOP candidate who gives a damn about free markets and civil liberties and they can compete for my vote, and apparently the votes of everyone else who went L; enough to make a difference this time.

3) I felt damned good voting the way I did. Will do it again next time if the choices are similar. The Romneys and Gillespies of the world will never get my vote. The Ron/Rand Pauls, or Ted Cruz's would, because I vote people not parties. Had Sarvis not been on the ballot this go I'd have just stood home yesterday anyway.

that's all I have to say about that.

Agreed. The libertarian (not liberal) movement is on a roll with numerous states legalizing gay marriage over the last year and Alaska, Oregon, and Washington DC legalizing marijuana yesterday (slowing down the mass incarceration problem and our police state).

The longer Republican candidates hold on to antiquated views and not coming up with ideas to encourage free markets and free people, the more they will be scratching their heads wondering why they're not winning any elections.

Easy boys. Warner was going to be a tough nut to crack I did not expect to win this one. That we got pretty close is a good thing.

Well get 'em next time. We need some new blood though, and someone who can speak to social issues in a coherent manner.
