My Kimber SS UltCry2 has become corroded and rusted in areas. Pics attached.

I routinely carry using a Remora holster. Any ideas on why this is occurring?

Thanks

Been out of town for work and finally back checking out the forum. Came across your post. I have never had the corrosion on the frame but if I don't clean the barrel of mine once every week or two that darn brown corrosion starts to show up. You would think for the price you pay for one of these that wouldn't happen. I contacted Kimber and they asked my a list of questions regarding how the gun is stored. I told them I kept mine either in a pistol rug when I take it to the range and the rest of the time it hangs out either next to my bedside table or in my vault. They finally agreed to replace the barrel. I really don't think it has anything to do with the holster. I have spoken to a few friends and guys at the range I frequent and they have all said that Kimber's and corrosion go hand n hand.

Kimber charged me $280 to re-finish the whole thing. This is the last time I buy Kimber...what's the point in paying for SS and Alum? My SS Rugers have never done this.....in over 30 yrs.

Indeed! After getting it fixed up, I traded it in at my local gun shop and got a Springfield 1911 Champion. Not one issue. Love that pistol!
