Started to post it in "show off your hardware", but while you can shoot with it, it ain't a gun. It's a FLIRONE thermal imaging camera for an I-phone 5. slides right onto the back of the phone. superimposes the thermal image onto a linedrawing of the background generated from the visual camera's picture. Pretty cool. I really was thinking about SWMBO if I can get her to take my I-phone when my Samsung Note 4 is delivered. She worries about encountering a bear that's wondering the neighborhood when she goes out into the dark to get the paper, and she worries (as all women do) about bad people lurking in the dark around parking lots, etc. And then there's the possibility someone might use it to spot critters (both 2-legged and 4-legged) under various circumstances. Also may well use it to find excess heat in wiring and control circuitry and cold/hotspots in buildings. But let's face it, I might not have bought it absent the cool factor, which is HUGE. Took a picture of a gal at the office, which is posted here. Just plain cool.; that's all.
Also bought a REAL thermal camera for my new drone: A FLIR Tau 2 324 Thermal Camera, guy I got it from tells me it can spot a thermal source the size and output of man at 1,000 yards. Don't have it yet. Toy budget is now tapped out BIGTIME.
