I couldn't hear what the muzzle velocity was stated in the video but considering the results it's got to be more than "Damn Fast" and a lot closer to "Holy S**t!!!"
???? Does he say "close to 8500 ft/second" ????

I became impressed with the power of those nailgun blanks when I was observing a building with steel I-beam structural members being constructed.
The architect wanted a nailer strip attached to the bottom of a 6" steel I-beam (~1/2" thick steel). The carpenters ripped down a 2x8 to 6" wide and NAILED it to the I-beam with a blank powered nailgun. I was amazed to see the nails protruding through the steel.

By the way, gluing a pellet on the end of blank didn't work.

This sort of thing is something that gets a fleeting thought from me when I go to Lowes, but never something to which I gave serious consideration.

I suppose that, safety-wise, experimenting with it is a bad idea. But, I suspect that a lot of firearm development over the years has deep roots in what would be considered "bad ideas" by todays safety conscious society.
